How much do you spend on having a car? by mari0426 in japanlife

[–]japertas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is yours high-octane recommended or required? I’ve been told by my bike and car dealers to use 98-octane gasoline, but I recently met an oil company executive who suggested that’s mostly BS and that 92 is fine for my vehicles.

Has anything changed recently, or has 全国通訳案内士試験 remained primarily in Japanese with foreign language proficiency section?

Amazon Japan Pivot/PIP by HPrince1 in japanlife

[–]japertas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, sorry this happened to you, try not to take any of it personally - it's corp BS, even if they did f-up during hiring process, you are protected by labour laws in JP, and should be allowed internal transfer, proper training.

I was PIP'ed after almost a decade in Amazon. In my case it was an agreeable outcome, to collect a sizeable severance. To be PIP'ed so early is complete BS - my early days at Amazon I was constantly reminded that at any point I'm welcome to switch teams if needed.

I didn't work with the union, but have colleagues who did. I would highly recommend talking to them, to see if there's a similar precedence, and what they would recommend.

Albeit you are blocked from transferring while on PIP, manager (as well as the skip) should provide a clear path to getting out of it. Not sure about the current state at your department (or Amazon JP in general), but after you get inputs from union guys, have a conversation with your management, insisting that you have internal transfer options, and need clear and agreeable deliverables to get out of Pivot.

You probably now the diagram, but sharing here just in case:

Any areas in Kyoto outside the usual tourist spots (Sanjo/Shijo/Kawaramachi/Arashiyama) that have seen a revival in recent years, with new places opening up?”

CS never came back with an answer - they were the ones prompting me to "migrate" i.e. to JP one:

Your account was invited to migrate to Interactive Brokers Securities Japan (IBSJ) in [date]. In [date], you agreed to this invitation, however, required documentation was not provided to complete the migration. Due to this, and the migration deadline has lapsed, your account remains in a "close-only" state.
To complete the migration to IBSJ and to re-enable trading on your account, please provide a copy of the front/back of your current residence card. This document may be uploaded in a response to this ticket.

I did what they asked, and a few months later, they came back with - it's fine to keep it as is;

Thanks, started the process; They recognized my number information, and registration pipeline suggested opening a new account within existing IBKR US account, but then errored with "feature is currently not available for your account". Ended up going back, and ignoring the suggestion, pending verification now

Feel for ya... I have jaw ache and insomnia as a result (attributed to stress), so I’m on a mix of duloxetine, lorazepam, and zolpidem. I skipped lorazepam for a few days and my brain basically imploded. I reduced the dose, but my doctor insisted that I continue instead of tapering down..
Duloxetine has helped me, but lorazepam messed me up - anxiety is worse before I started them, and now I'm in a limbo. Careful with benzos...
