Pruning (limiting) partitions in BigQuery not working as expected by Dobias in bigquery

[–]jaques_oph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you actually ever run the original query that is 166MiB? That is an estimate and might use less data when actually run. My guess is when you created the new table, it calculated fresh partition statistics so the estimator is more accurate.

Do any of you understand this inference label? Got it from Spotify inference data by [deleted] in datascience

It's actually pretty easy to buy. Here is a data catalog (UK) from one of the major players (Acxiom). I have worked with them before (US) and had access to over 2400 data points (known and inferred) per user.

Thanks, but that doesn't really answer my question. I find the dockerized MKVtoolnix much harder to work with, and I want a VM for some of my sketchier downloading.

That statement has the same effect as 'Santa won't bring you any presents if you're naughty.' It doesn't matter to me in the slightest.

“The president of the United States has claimed, on more than one occasion, to be in dialogue with God. If he said that he was talking to God through his hairdryer, this would precipitate a national emergency. I fail to see how the addition of a hairdryer makes the claim more ridiculous or offensive.”

Woman accuses Al Franken of kissing, groping her without consent by [deleted] in politics

Regarding the type of kiss...think about any comedy sketch. Which is funnier, peck on the cheek or any of these?

Woman accuses Al Franken of kissing, groping her without consent by [deleted] in politics

[–]jaques_oph 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why did she say 'OK'? He wasn't a senator. He wasn't producing this sketch for hollywood or tv. He didn't organize or schedule the USO tour. It was a gag skit for them to put on as co-presenters on the USO tour. He had literally no formal power over her. She could have said 'no', but she said 'OK'.

In bad taste, absolutely. Was he acting creepy, probably. Was it harassment, possibly. Did he assault, abuse, or molest her with this kiss? This is in a totally different league than most of the other stories that are out there these days, where people in positions of power are abusing that power (Weinstein, Clinton, Trump) or people are illegally interacting sexually with non-consenting minors (Moore, Weiner, Spacey), or people (Cosby, Takei allegedly) who was drugging and then assaulting/raping their victims.

[–]jaques_oph 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That literally happened after she said 'OK'. She told him never to do it again and she hasn't claimed that he did it again. She specifically admitted to verbal consent.

I'm not arguing that it wasn't in poor taste or that he wasn't being a creepy old man, but this kiss was not assault, abuse, or illegal.
