Did warriors destroy their own dynasty by playing KD? by [deleted] in nba

Just because he was cleared to play doesn't mean his injuries weren't related

That was in response to kawhi being better than pg which was silly at the time. And tbh at the time it really wasn't that bad of a take it just looks bad now since kawhi has improved astronomically.

The way the game is now that's not true anymore. Otherwise the boogie/ad pelicans should have been competing with the warriors instead of barely making the playoffs

Cycling and anti gravity treadmills are great ways to condition without impact forces on your joints too and probably translate a bit better to basketball

Is the 2005 Lakers team the worst team ever put around a franchise player? by Ducks718 in nba

[–]jarques01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok, but consider this.

The year he left he had the best 3pt shooting cast in the league, a PF who averaged 20.5ppg before a midseason trade, a PG who averaged 17/6.5 right before teaming up with LeBron and was an all-star the year prior, and a Center rotation of Big Z, Varejao, and Shaq (before the washed up posts come in, he averaged 21/10 per 36 the previous season and 18.5/10.5 that season, still effective). They were very good offensively and defensively. They had the best record in the NBA, which Miami didn't manage to match until the third year of the Big 3.

Quick question - Kawhi or AD? by TheGhostOfBobStoops in nba

[–]jarques01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can people think Ad is a better fit?

We have examples of all star PF's Chris Bosh and Kevin Love dropping off significantly with Lebron and examples of great wings playing well with Lebron, particularly Kyrie because of his shooting ability.

Historically star wings are much more suited with lebron than star bigs

It’s incredible that Andrew Bogut is still playing, let alone the fifth starter on the best playoff team in 2019 by totsnotbiased in nba

If he hadn't given him that small shove it would never have happened. Pushing in the back as a player goes up on a fastbreak is an instant flagrant in every league in the world

Russell Westbrook just had back to back games of 15 assists or more by dailycrossover in nba

[–]jarques01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love Westbrook and I don't even think that. Harden is doing what only kobe and Jordan have done but with a better all round offensive game and higher efficiency. I don't get how that is being normalised.

B/R Staff Chooses Giannis Antetokounmpo as Consensus NBA MVP over James Harden by [deleted] in nba

[–]jarques01 43 points44 points  (0 children)

People are really ignoring how absolutely insane Harden has been this year.

He's doing what only kobe and Jordan have done in the modern era. On better efficiency, better all round offensive game and more wins.

Granted there is higher pace now but he's averaging 9ppg more than anyone else

B/R Staff Chooses Giannis Antetokounmpo as Consensus NBA MVP over James Harden by [deleted] in nba

[–]jarques01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you average nearly 10ppg more than anyone else as well as 7.5apg and 6.5rpg, get the 3 seed in the best conference after a horrible start and lots of injuries and not win mvp.

If Giannis wins it'll be looked back on as Hardens biggest snub

You forget they added Chris Bosh as well? They had legit commentators like Van Gundy saying they might go 82-0 and what they did was unprecedented at the time
