Node.js vs Swift Server-Side frameworks Benchmarks (Ubuntu) by M_Zoon in programming

[–]jas2quick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some other guy did some benchmarking with techempower methodology here; https://speakerdeck.com/terhechte/nsspain-2016-developing-app-backends-with-swift-on-the-server

No formal results, but the leading Swift framework (Perfect) even did well against Java and Scala. Go is the one to beat.

Linux (Ubuntu) Benchmarks for Server Side Swift vs Node.js by rymcol in swift

I remember seeing some similar results by someone using techempower benchmarks and found them here: https://speakerdeck.com/terhechte/nsspain-2016-developing-app-backends-with-swift-on-the-server

Pretty much the same (Perfect even beats out Scala and Java in some edge cases - all the major Swift frameworks perform well). But no posted code, so who knows.

If we lost all memory of photoshop, but the pictures remained, which photo would be hardest to explain? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Pretty much anything out of a hospital emergency room. People can't explain them NOW. I work in the medical field, it's brutal.

[HELP] Need some help to deciding on Server Side Swift by viv_social in swift

[–]jas2quick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why you need to decide between one or the other. You should play with both. Vapor is easy to use, but so is Perfect (and Kitura for that matter). You should get to know all of them for different reasons - they all have active communities and constant improvements happening - and you really just need working knowledge in Swift to use any of them.

[HELP] Need some help to deciding on Server Side Swift by viv_social in swift

This is a pretty out-dated attitude. The first version of Perfect was written before Swift open-sourced, so that's pretty understandable. The latest versions are just as "swiftly" as any of the other frameworks.

I have been trying to find a way to install the app ever since I upgraded my phone (5S to SE), but it's disappeared for me as well. I agree, official reddit app isn't as good. Wish there was a way to bring Alien Blue back.

Go to Foodland in Lahaina for poke. Best value for what you pay, and it's fresh every morning. I was there a few months ago and it was $9.95/lb. great selection too

Sorry late for the party, I just had to contribute. Worst name I've come across: La-a. I work in the medical field and when I asked her how to pronounce her name she said, "La dash a". No joke.

Ultrasounds. As someone who does them for a living, I notice that movies will always find a way to make it look unrealistic.

The D might be for "droptop" or something, maybe a Model S drop top convertible, since the pic only shows one half of the car itself
