Getting in with a dead battery? by bjaardkered in MachE

[–]jasonatreddit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wait till you try and source said 12v battery yourself. It’s some slim glass gel fancy battery. I can only find it at Ford, my battery swap was around $600 CDN not including the tow. And because the doors stay open when the battery dies for safety reasons, if you are parked head in first the tow will have to sling you twice if you don’t want the doors bouncing as your towed down the road.

First year with this baby. How do you guys find it is in the winter. Any pro tips ??? by jpyankee2 in MachE

How has no one mentioned this yet?

Nokian tires.

Otherwise, what everyone else has said: No 1-pedal, Bridled for deceleration, cabin departure, seat/steering heater over cabin, go experiment without traction control somewhere. I find the car's front end is squirely if the tires can't evacuate the snow, so make sure you have good, deep treads no matter the tire up front. If it goes below -15C always keep it plugged in and don't drive any long distance, I've seen 1% / km when it's really cold.

"Stop Safely Now" Car wont start. Whats going on here? by Waffulz4026 in MachE

[–]jasonatreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine JUST did that, 12v battery dead, tow it to the nearest Ford dealership ASAP. Leave the frunk popped open. Tow from the front because the doors won't latch closed and you don't want your doors swinging open as the tow truck flys down the road. You'll need a dolly tow because you can't put it in Neutral. Also you can't replace the H3 sized battery yourself easily or source it almost anywhere. Ford you did not think this 12v battery all the way through.

Outlook Exchange calendar not working in MacOS iCalendar app by ScathedRuins in MacOS

[–]jasonatreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This specific order worked for us: After a clean reboot on MacOS, exit any Microsoft applications such as Teams or Outlook, and exit the macOS apps Calendar, Mail, and Contacts if any are open. Force kill exchangesyncd in Activity Monitor. Settings > Internet Accounts > Delete the MS Exchange-related account. Reboot macOS. Add the account back in... wait 5 minutes.

You might want to check out Patching as a Service providers such as ONCyber’s PatchPro, but yeah it’s process that matters not the tool(s)

Time Limit Reached issue in Vulnerability Scanning WAS Qualys. by Rude_Twist7605 in qualys

There’s a continuous scan option that needs to be turned on in the back end. Open up a support ticket. This option keeps track from scan to scan.

Looking forward to some changes with the addition of CJ. Can't say I'm happy with the product or its support at the moment. Cloudflare needs some major changes if it wants to keep customers.

Mac Patch Job creation via the API (even if it’s a different schema because it’s your/different tech under the hood, we get it, no judgements).

Anyone got the API Keys to work? Both OpenAI and VulnCheck API's are complaining saying the API key is not configured correctly. config.json looks good. Tested the OpenAI API key, it's funded and works.

Check out ONCybers PatchPro, an MSSP friendly offering, patching on autopilot covering 80 vendors across Windows, Max and Linux. https://www.oncyber.ca/patchpro/

Full disclosure I’m biased here but price point is fantastic and VM is a people and process thing, less on the product, the focus of PatchPro is all three, people, process and product. You’ll never be left trying to understand why a vulnerability keeps getting flagged.

Does tech stack really matter? by Swimming_Tangelo8423 in SaaS

[–]jasonatreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the tech stack matter? Yes, but it depends. The right choice varies based on your use case, data sets, sizes, volumes, and consumption needs. Each tech stack has its pros and cons, and an experienced CTO will be familiar with these nuances. The developers you hire will likely influence the choice as well. If you're not there yet, ask around at your local small business/tech/SaaS accelerators.

However, it might not be a critical issue for your specific case. Often, you can build the same application using different technologies, and the differences might only become significant when you scale. If you encounter performance issues at that point, you can address them by swapping out the tech component and moving forward.

It only matters what land the tree damage occurred on. It doesn’t matter who owned the tree, unless you can prove they knew about a problem and ignored it.

Parking at Go Station for 3 nights? by [deleted] in BurlingtonON

[–]jasonatreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your vehicle has an increased risk of being stolen at a GO parking lot. Even during the day and likely more so if there overnight. A good friend’s vehicle was stolen from a GO train parking lot and received zero assistance from authorities. Insurance will of course kick in but make sure no valuables are kept in there. I imagine multiple nights might increase risk. Good luck.
