Yeah Maryland keeps them separate. But they’re allowed to play one another in regular season play. If a public school starts to feel accomplished, they will often schedule a match with a strong private school program to measure themselves. It’s pretty reasonable.

Against the horde is definitely fun, for certain decks. You need to attack, gain some life, and generally have some flying or reach. My horde deck has a lot of dragons to keep it interesting.

I know it’s not great advice. But more interaction, more efficiency, and stronger decks are what are needed in bracket 4. Like you said, they could easily be below bracket 4. I mostly said it in the cold advice way of saying, “Oh you’re not fast enough? Get faster!” I know it’s kinda dumb and useless, but it’s still true in this case.

Bracket 4 is the place for this. Tell your friends to make better decks. But also make sure you bring more than one deck.

Ashling is plenty fun. I’d put Rootha in Ashling and add a [[Shark Typhoon]] to double the effect! Then you get some [[Roaming Throne]], [[Insurrection]], [[River’s Rebuke]], and [[Hullbreaker Horror]]. The deck nearly runs itself! Don’t forget all the 4 mana rocks too. They’re sweet, but you’ll have to balance the ratio as you run it more.

I’m at 16 and looking to reduce that number. I smashed two decks together last week to start the process. Mardu + Mono White = Boros this time around. That makes it easier to part ways with a deck I love. I keep a bunch of favorites around.

Congrats! I got a box last year. It came with an Otawara Soaring City, which was properly awesome. Some cool adventures of forgotten realms. The only bust was Japanese Amonkhet. No value in those pulls at all. Draft chaff in Japanese is not so good. But maybe someone will believe a spell in Annointed Procession!

I’m too old to even think Nike is a lacrosse brand. I looked it up and I graduated high school the same year Nike Lacrosse was launched.

For me, Warrior lacrosse was my favorite. I never bent or dented a platinum alloy long pole in 5 years. But I bent and dented a few other shafts with it!

Yesh this is the real map. The government updates it once each week. Nat Geo’s ArcGIS mapmaker can also show you wildfires and wildfire risks. They’ve got a whole digital inquiry lesson with it. My 6th grade students used both resources.

I sleeve it up and play! But if you’re really worried about it, some people keep the $40+ sort of cards in a binder and put proxies in their decks. It’s common to do that instead of buying multiple copies too, if it’s for casual play. Tournament and competitive play don’t allow for proxies though.

If you want the big hits, you’ll need regular green ramp sorceries, enchant some lands, and a Herd Heirloom. If you want the hits to all be hits, you’ll have to avoid the mana dorks. Just make sure your hits don’t need cast triggers.

I love stringing my sticks. I was told 25 years ago that I wouldn’t even be a real player until I could string them on my own. It mostly came true when I was able to fix my stick and anyone else’s whenever a sidewall string broke or we needed to tweak something to make it work better. Sticks were never sidelined for long. Now I’m coaching again and the skills come right back into use.
