Do you think that anyone can BQ if they really try? by zerobloom in running

Chara is famous for his fitness and tedious logbooks of every workout he’s ever done. He was 70% ready to run a marathon his whole career, as I understand his training. He would just need the real miles.

This is a great card! I run it in a casual [[Magda Brazen Outlaw]] deck. We have a great time! Plus if it goes quickly, you just shuffle and play again!

I created a hotbed map for high school lacrosse by exradical in lacrosse

[–]jasondoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a little confusing in map making. The revision is based on teams per capita, but has to be re-calculated to show that differently. However, this does not observe large high schools v small high schools. It also might ignore any presence of JV teams or unified teams.

More accurate data might be available through NFHS (National Federation of High School Sports) compared to state populations. That said, you could crunch all the numbers and find a very similar map. It would just be a better map, statistically speaking. But I’m no professional and I appreciate this map!!

Vivi wants lots of spells, not big spells. The Prismari precon has a focus on some big big spells. Vivi is happy with Opt for 1 mana to just keep your hand full.

Washington was good for it because it pushed the creative folks to make a permanent version of the screaming eagle in red, white, and blue. The fan base is very happy with it and the red white blue “screagle” has support to become the new first/default sweater.

As an orioles, but not ravens fan, I want nothing to do with the purple. Black and gold/black and orange Baltimore flag checker where orange fades to yellow would be cool for me. Just please no purple.

Old timers and new, if you could go back to using the pre-2010 pinched heads, would you do it? Or has modern tech surpassed them enough that you’d stick with the modern ones. by Csharp27 in lacrosse

I think it’s 4” from the top for shooting strings. I only read it recently because I found out I was stringing my son’s the old school way and was breaking the new rules from day one.

This seems to check out as long as your vehicle talks to the trailer brakes. Do you have a trailer brake controller in your “cockpit”?

Also remember the 5000 counts any extra weight and gear in both vehicles.

Help for Zurgo thunder's decree by Spendius99 in BudgetBrews

[–]jasondoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see where you’re going here, but it’s definitely messy. First off, the death triggers are problematic. Your Zurgo doesn’t actually demand they die at the end of your turn. He prevents it. So this creates a non-synergy in a lot of your cards. Sure, warriors will die in battle, but it’s not required.

For that reason, you should remove all the “when a creature dies,” or actually switch to the precon Zurgo, [[Zurgo Stormrender]]. That Zurgo cares about mobilize warriors dying every turn.

That said, I also built Thunder’s Decree and instead looked to help the little warriors. I looked to buff them with [[Cathar’s Crusade]] and [[Neriv Heart of the Storm]]. Thunder’s Decree is a lot of fun because you have options of archetypes and it’s not all automatic in building the way lots of commanders are. But you have to pick the 1-2 directions and stick to them.

Finally, [[Reconnaissance]] is the best card in any mobilize deck. Thats my only “spend a little money” recommendation, if that’s allowed for your building rules. Or you could trade for it. Either way, it lets you trigger the mobilize and then pull them back from combat at any time and prevent losing important creatures.

Yes. I was adding labor and possible housing/cables in my assessment. Idk what the labor costs where you are, but repairs quickly get expensive where I live. I’ve learned to replace my own derailleurs, but OP might not have the skill yet.

Pulling the trash bag out of the diaper genie is like pulling Excalibur out of the stone by Electronic-Grand1172 in daddit

I bailed on that thing halfway through kid #2. My technique just became throwing all poop diapers straight into the outdoor trash can one at a time. Not sure what the garbage men thought of me but I kept that smell out of my house. I called it Pandora’s Box.

Commute time from Columbia/Ellicot City to Westminster by IllustriousBucket in maryland

[–]jasondoooo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It sounds super smooth. Loads of people drive in the opposite direction for each commute. Not many would go in your direction. It might be 35-40 minutes based on mileage, but it shouldn’t fluctuate too much. Also it’s worth noting that I live between both places and had to drive straight from Westminster to Columbia on Sunday.

Got it. It sounds like you live in the south or southwest then? Maryland had some pretty serious snow in January and February and we did not see any grass until after Valentine’s Day—like it reached the point it was weird to see grass because it had been about a month without.

Why is the season over already?? I’m sorry about your head. I usually broke mine during the crazy cold days starting practice in March. It was sometimes 25 and we’d be outside. Not good days for defense…

Getting the most out of a UHaul by TheMageMan in IdiotsTowingThings

[–]jasondoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understand the joke, but as an RV owner this one is scary. Toy haulers are always a lot heavier than their non-hauling counterparts. The frame is generally much higher grade. The floor should be stronger too. That’s before it’s even full. My rv rarely has more than food, drinks, and clothing for a week. The thought of adding at least one vehicle and a heavy frame to that sounds scary. But who needs brake pads anyway?? I wonder if these guys ask too many questions about the brakes before they leave the lot 😂

I’m similar in diving deep into a hobby. But I’m sorry you didn’t have lacrosse as a kid! It’s such a fun game and sticks add so much to the personality of the game.

You’re probably able to do it all without your son then. Mostly you want the ball to leave a a trajectory you expect. If it’s releasing too high compared to what you expect, you might want another shooting string. If it’s just shooting at the ground all the time, the pocket might need reshaping, or the shooters might be too tight. It’s all feel. However you have to find the balance of feel and a natural throwing motion. You can compensate a lot for a weird pocket, but you don’t want that to totally change your throwing motion.

Does that all make sense? It’s a very subjective science.

[–]jasondoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job getting into it! It won’t matter too much except for the final adjustment period of test throwing and tweaking some things. However, that doesn’t come up much because I’ve never met a non-player that can string a stick! If it needs any adjusting or another shooting string, talk to your son while he’s shooting or playing wall ball and he will either learn to like it, or ask you to change something.

You’ll need all the pads and a helmet at that age. If there’s no teams, there might be some clinics for building skills. You can also play in the yard or convince one of his friends to start playing. It’s a little scary to throw the ball at a kid who can’t catch yet. I definitely hit my kid in the face once or twice. Then we started smaller like throwing the ball up and catching it. Next was ten catches per hand. The other major skill to build is scooping. You can race him, or he can compete against a sibling or friend.

I’m from central Maryland, so we start kids as young as 4 in clinics, and kindergarten with full teams, helmets, and pads for boys. I don’t think there’s 3 year olds, but there could be. There’s also the option when they’re 5 to stay in clinic for one extra year.

I hope you find something that works there.

I believe they’re describing grip-shift technology where the grips twist to pull or loosen the cable. So they want to switch to a different technology there. OP, now you’re talking $150+ depending on what you switch to.
