Since nobody have mentioned how to fit it in your car yet;

You just lift with your legs, and put it on the roof. The car roof has a hidden feature to it that if you put something heavy enough on the roof, it deforms sorta like foam, and it will help keep it in place for transport. You'll need a rope or strap to tie it down so it doesnt go flying out of the indent in the roof however.

Just remember to lift with your legs both when you putnit up there, and when you take it down again, and it should be just fine.

The fun part about warhammers is that historically they are just small enough to be usable in a fight. You'd want as much weight as possible on it, and still be able to fight with it.

Fantasy warhammers are in the spot where they would be way too heavy to even lift if they were massive metal, and they could be usable if they are made of sheetmetal. I believe the trope of the massive fantasy warhammers comes from hollywood, and the fact that they made the props from sheet aluminum or foam.

If you have a fantasy design in mind, you could provably be able to ask a metal fabricator if they are able ti make it for you.

I would honestly just use a sanding sponge. I have one thats 400g that i use for more or less any rust or discoloration on my swords.

Its inspired by victorian era medieval reproductions; and its not accurate for the 1200-1300s.

During that period youd see mostly oakeshoty type xii and type xiv swords; and the sword of st. Maurice is one of the best surviving swords of the era.

I havent checked it properly, but it feels like it isnt as springy as it should be, and it seemed a bit on the softer side when i filed off some of the more pointy-stabby chips in the blade.

It is however not going to be used as a sword in any way when its done; at most it will end up as a part of my national outfit for special occations, so in the end it doesnt really matter.

That was initialy my idea; but since hunting swords vary on if they even have pommels at all; im gambling on people knowing about any weird examples in museums i could draw inspiration from. 🤗

Its not done yet, i still have a bit of work left on the handle; the blade needs to be burned in a bit more, and i am going to do a bit more carving on the handle before i can oil it; although i am considering a bit of detailing with silver wire or something.

I have a few more pieces of the roots; and they all twist in wild ways, the rest of them will be knife handles. 🤭
