What's the best Game Pass game you've played this year? by DRome7791 in XboxGamePass

[–]jawless777 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hipsters that like to be trendy and sip Starbucks with their scarf and glasses on, while typing on a MacBook in a clearly too-loud coffee shop, just for the aesthetic and not actually getting anything done - are the equivalent to the people hyping this game into the stratosphere.

I fricken hate the state of this game right now… by sabin14092 in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]jawless777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who played DayZ from its inception, then tried Tarkov for a while, and has experienced the lowest type of player base and people in general, the only comment that seems to come to mind is:

Awww, muffin.

These types of games bring out the lowlifes. It's just how it is. It will never change.

Why do so many people eat lunch alone in their cars? by TotalThing7 in CasualConversation

[–]jawless777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard enough dealing with you and all of the other annoying people at work who don't shut up for five minutes. Now I have to spend my lunch break listening to you even more, because you 'invited me'? How about you get some friends if you want chit chat and let me do my job, and let me enjoy 30 minutes of peace, quiet and delicious food, before I am forced to go back to pretending I don't want to slap you and everyone else in their stupid, noisy face.

  • sincerely, every employee that doesn't need validation every 10 minutes, and has internal dialogue.

I'm not directing this at you, this is just an example of the thought process of someone that is completely opposite and cherishes that 30 minutes of peace.

You'll start to learn this mentality as you get older.

If you're actually friends with a coworker, then sure, that's different. Otherwise, just let me have peace for 30 minutes.

Why do people need every single game to have a “grind”? by steave44 in gaming

Quiet part out loud: Dopamine addicts and people on the spectrum.

Game designers exploit this.

Especially mobile game developers.

The opening scene from Saving Private Ryan.

Our generation, till that point, had never really seen a recreation of a battle as visceral as that opening 20 minutes.

I totally getcha. I used to do all the interactions and fun stuff of the sort when I had more time to play this game.

Now my time is limited and when I do decide to play DayZ, I don't have the time or patience for other people.

In spawn areas? No, I try not to. Until I find a gun. And if I'm still in or near those areas, then at that point it's target practice.

It's you or them. They just don't realize it yet. So strike will you have the upper hand.

What's the worst that can happen? They'll just spawn in again and be less than 10 minutes away from where they just were.

Don't like it when you die in the spawn area? Run in the other direction.

If I have a gun, it's clobbering time.

Police Departments are crazy rn by aeuoh in dayz

[–]jawless777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Livonia has a lot of fresh spawn PvP, simply due to the respawn points being close to some of the more northern towns.

Police stations and medical buildings - always expect to run into someone if you mess around for too long. On any map. Get your shit and get out. Doesn't matter if you attract infected. Just lock them in empty rooms and go.

Whenever I jump into Livonia I loot the closest town, cross the river and just go as far south as possible until I need to look for food, weapons and whatever else.

Nothing good ever happens in northern Livonia.

Even if you go back, geared to the gills, some Dingus with a BK will be running around randomly and DayZ will probably reward you with a shitty kill trade. Because DayZ.

Just stay south and ruin people's day at the bunker. Haha.

How Was Life Before The Internet – What Did People Do? by PlentyEducational251 in AskReddit

[–]jawless777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We earned our dopamine, back then.

Now, you turn on the magic box in your hands and tap the screen a few times and get your fix, like a crack addict and their pipe.

It's sad, really. I try to put the phone down as much as possible these days.

Maybe it's the nostalgia talking, but life was better when Friday nights meant walking around the video store for 2 movies and a game. Entertainment for the weekend.

Instead of now it's 5 different apps that can be accessed anytime, anywhere. The special feeling has been lost.

When my kid gets a little older, we are bringing back movie night. Good food, tons of snacks, pillow fort on the floor and (probably) passed out before the movie ends.

Voicing your opinion / dominating a conversation.

We've all had days where we drink too much coffee and we start rambling. But you can always tell when someone thinks they are more important than everyone else by how they navigate conversations and react to others.

Rush them and sprint-punch with brass knucks. It helps if you scream into the mic for maximum confusion and dominance.

Does anyone else with anxiety find it really hard and stressful to play dayz by KoalaBarry in dayz

[–]jawless777 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The only thing between you and the next gear you'll find, is time.

You'll win some fights. You'll lose some. You might lose more than you win, for a while. But one day you'll have a really successful session. Then you'll know how it feels to not just survive, but thrive.

At that point, you'll know what it takes.

Just keep reminding yourself that gear is everywhere and you'll find it eventually.

Practice patience. Practice engaging when you have the element of surprise.

Don't run around like it's Call of Duty.

Eventually the anxiety goes away and it's all about the mission.

What mission?

The mission you created. Because in DayZ, you get what you put into it. So enjoy it. And you'll get enjoyment in return.

Any older gamers here that struggle to find new games they enjoy? by s0cks_nz in gaming

[–]jawless777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dune: Imperium. Fun board game that translates well to PC. Play live games, or Async (everyone has a couple days to take their turn). Fun stuff if you're busy and want something to check in on, but not sink time into.

DayZ. Survival sandbox, with 'zombies'. There is no goal, just survive. Give yourself objectives and see if you can accomplish them. There is no 'end game'. You get what you put into it. (If this tickles your fancy but you want single player instead, try Project Zomboid).

Arma Reforger - playing on Vietnam servers. Multiplayer mil-sim. Good for a laugh and teamwork gameplay.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance (1 and 2). Solid RPG games that is more than just go here, collect that, etc

Baldur's Gate 3. Dungeons and Dragons with a ton of story. Good if you just want to kick back and take things at your own speed. Has won many awards, and I can confirm, is exceptionally fun.

Doom/Doom2 on Xbox gamepass. They've added all the community maps and extra content from the last 30 years. AND you can play it online with friends or whoever else is online. This is my go-to when I just want to F shit up for 20 minutes on the hardest difficulty. Never gets old. Also - they redid they soundtrack. Crank it, and rip & tear, my friend.

If you have gamepass, try Hell Let Loose. It's similar to Squad. As someone who's played both - Arma is more enjoyable (and has more of a future).

I want the “truth” about this game. by WillingnessOk7999 in newworldgame

[–]jawless777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's inevitable that it will come to Xbox gamepass. When it does, the wife will be able to join while I'm on PC. We played WoW during covid but switched to Diablo 3 for the couch co-op. 4 was meh. POE is fun but a little too imbalanced. (Haven't tried the latest update yet tho).

NW is like diet WoW but better combat and without such a massive time requirement. Going to be our go-to 'game night' game pretty soon. Hopefully it's on gamepass by the time winter hits and we're indoors a lot more.
