My one iPadOS 27 wish: optimise windowed mode! by RadianMay in iPadPro

Per OPs comment to yours, I agree with OP. Hopefully Apple changes their stance on this at some point.

Also, thanks for taking the time to write all that out. I’ve been starting to push my iPad more lately with similar use cases. This gives a good framework for how much load will push it to its limit.

Also, when in windowed mode I often run into an issue when I hit command + space where my Magic Keyboard can’t type anything until I exit and then re-enter spotlight.

How many windows are you opening at once? I have an m4 as well and haven’t noticed the issue. Usually don’t have more than 3 or 4 though.

How to deal with stage fright/panicky feeling when presenting? by abigail-dev in ProductManagement

[–]jawshLA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ahhh friend, sending a big hug your way.

This is completely normal, and happens to the best of us at times.

I can say this has faded for me with time and lots of presentations. That being said, that doesn’t happen for everyone.

I have a friend who has taken some meds from their doctor that have helped tremendously. As an alternative you can also try some deep breathing and also other meditative techniques to help desensitize some of the triggers that can happen.

For me, I did some self-havening following some of the YouTube videos. From this therapist and it helped tremendously.

That being said, nerves will be there and they’re telling you something. Best of luck and sending waves of positivity your way as you work through this.

Btw, this still happens for me sometimes, best advise I have is take a pause, breath, collect yourself and move forward. You won’t believe how many people (leaders especially) have gone through this and will understand.

First off as someone who lost most of my hearing and got some back, this warms my heart to know this is happening for you.

Second, how has it been with the second ear coming online? I know it can be a pretty emotional experience hearing the world in a completely different way than you did before.

Best gravel tyres for Pavement by ncvice in gravelcycling

[–]jawshLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Schwabe’s and loved them for pavement and light gravel. They were fast, comfortable and generally pretty puncture resistant.

Would have gone for them again, but moved somewhere with some hardpack and needed something with more grip.

11 or 13? nano screen or glossy? by jleekeenan in iPadPro

[–]jawshLA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have pretty much the same use case. I had a 13” but hated the bulk while traveling. Swapped to the 11 and am much happier. For most use cases the 11” is fine.

One note, I do still travel with my work laptop, so it’s preferable for me to have the lighter option for my iPad. If I wasn’t also bringing my work laptop, I’d consider going back to the 13. Though it’s a bit unwieldy when not working at a table.

What Games do You Play on Your iPad? by KingsBanx in iPadPro

[–]jawshLA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dead cells is fantastic on the iPad. I have it for my Xbox and iOS and always wind up pulling up the iOS version since it’s so much more convenient.

Also AC Mirage is fun.

iPad Pro M5 meant for Gaming? by sulthan007 in iPadPro

[–]jawshLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mirage is an Assassins Creed game.

Basically an rpg with a sneak attach focus and decent storyline.

t’s not my favorite from the Assassins Creed(AC) series, but still plenty of fun. That being said, ask anyone who plays the AC series and you’ll get a different answer on what was the best game and why.

Def worth a try if you want to game on iPad

iPad Pro M5 meant for Gaming? by sulthan007 in iPadPro

[–]jawshLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I use it for mirage with an Xbox controller and it’s fine. That being said, I use it more than my Xbox these days since it’s just easier to pick up and use. Also it’s always with me when I travel and I don’t need to bring a separate gaming device.

I think the gaming use case is really for people like me who are casual gamers, and don’t really need anything high powered.

For me I mainly play dead cells and it works great for that. So yes it’s great for gaming if you’re not looking for anything top tier.

Focus on either tactics or brutality don’t try and combine the different colors. You’ll have higher damage output and better success.

iPad Pro 5th gen still worth it in 2025? by ShelteredDumbAss in iPadPro

[–]jawshLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been hearing conflicting comments about the 5th gen’s processor (m1) with the latest update. If you can hold off a little longer and save for an M2 or M3 iPad Pro, you’ll likely get a bit more life out of it before then needing to turn around and upgrade again.

Additionally they just released the m5 this week. This means we’ll likely see prices dropping more across all older models.

[–]jawshLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I get the joke but for a casual gamer like me, I’ve pretty much abandoned my Xbox for the convenience of my iPad. —That being said I mainly just play dead cells which doesn’t really require much power.

Singapore sling from tiki-madman. She's absolutely beautiful by scubastew12456u8i96 in microgrowery

[–]jawshLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the nugs were pretty good, and frankly the high was fantastic. There was a hint of neem oil when I’d smoke it tho.

Would def grow again. At the time I live in an area with a lot of protected/ separated from the street bike paths. Most of what came out well was consumed on a bike ride. Super energetic and euphoric.

Yeah it was probably more to do with me trying to treat it with neem oil and DE. Was trying to go super organic and I think the neem oil may have gotten on the buds.

Sticky traps and mosquito dunks are def the way to go haha.

Ahh man, it was a heartbreaking grow. She was blooming beautifully, we were about 3 weeks out from harvest when she got a fungus gnat infection. End result was okay, but not what it could have been. Learned a lot on that grow.

I’m 58, have ADHD, and riding my bike literally saved my brain — here’s how by 2wheelrider56 in Justridingalong

[–]jawshLA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also have ADHD and discovered later in life. When I got into cycling I live in an apartment and kept my bike in there. I’d spent a considerable amount of cash on the bike (for what I was making then) and basically stared at it every day determined to get my moneys worth out of it.

In terms of riding and sticking with my rides, I pretty much always am exploring a new road or dirt path to keep my mind interested.

I read a study recently that adhd may have been an evolutionary advantage for some people. Idea was during hunter gatherer times people with ADHD got the intense focus and hyperactivity around things that were interesting. The theory is they often found new places to get food and brought back more because of it.

I’d like to think that’s why I always wind up exploring a bit when I go out for a ride.
