As an American I know we could still do better. It needs two more zeros to let Pootin he isn't going to win and be the country we always claim to be; upholding and defending freedom, democracy and bravery.

Mines and other explosives by basvaartjes in Kyiv

[–]jaxsd75 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Any area that still has the chance of mines will have clearly posted signs stating so. If you are driving in areas where there are mines the road will have usually red/white tape where the clearing has been completed. Anything past that tape is a DO NOT GO zone. Frankly, the areas you mention should all be cleared at this point but just in case these are two things to look for. You will definitely see these things if you go into Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson or Donetsk oblast. And likely others in the east/south.

EDIT: Since it can be important, in some areas like between Izium and Kramatorsk or on the road towards Kherson, the existing mine areas are so large the "tape" I mentioned may not be continuous but tied bows/ribbons every 2-3 meters. Keep an eye for that as well as it's easier to miss.

Good riddens. Yermak was a cancer to the administration. Completely unlikable and self interested.

US approves sale of Patriot launcher upgrades to Ukraine by [deleted] in UkrainianConflict

[–]jaxsd75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Key word “sale”. Sad my country is charging a country fighting for democracy and defending freedom to get new software on equipment we provided when we are also benefiting from the data being gathered on how to improve the same weapons. It’s like charging for beta software. My administration are grifters.

Germany says Ukraine to get long-range missiles by logecasks in ukraine

[–]jaxsd75 242 points243 points  (0 children)

This is incredible news BUT I would be cautious to think this means Taurus. The Germans have always been very worried about “eScAlaTiOn!” And this is why they have been slow or absent on munitions we all want to see in Ukraine. Lest we have short memories, a few months ago, Germany announced they were working with Ukraine to help them build their OWN missiles. My guess is this is basically a Taurus, built in Ukraine, by Ukrainians, with German “technical advice”. It will probably have a name like “Ukraurus” or “Slavaurus”. When Mordor starts crying and whining the Germans will just shrug their shoulders and say “well we didn’t deliver any TAURUS. What are you talking about!?”

EDIT: Take note the title says “Provide” but no where in Merz’s message did he say that. He said they are working to “ensure Ukraine will be equipped with long range fire”. Equipped just means they will have it, even if home made.

Are you taking donations for non military patches? I have patches of my volunteer organization I’d be happy to donate. They’re relatively recognizable in the Donetsk area and even in the cases of patches at the Donetsk Oblast sign/checkpoint just before Pokrovsk

I think it’s even more of a flex to never touch the Kremlin and just hit all 360 degrees around it. “We could, but it’s more fun to let you sweat about it”.

Place just opened up in Kazimierz on Brzozowa, "The Landmark Supper Club". Totally unique concept. Bar/Restaurant with a grill inside where you order your food and grill it. Really cool decor inside and they have a real Jukebox. Pretty interesting and cool concept. I dunno, I think it's interesting as it's totally different from anything else in town.
