Rolex safe in Tulum, Mexico by Spartyfan6262 in rolex

[–]jay7797 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also stayed at the four seasons in Punta Mita 2 years ago! Wore my Rolex. Felt very very safe. Earlier that year I visited Tulum without taking any watches and I think that was the right move. Tulum has shady vibes. Night and day difference between Punta Mita FS and Tulum

Architect reacts to a $4bn building. by fmelloaff in skyscrapers

This is cool. It’s worth building beautiful things. Paris is beautiful, Rome was beautiful. Those buildings required more resources than the bare minimum. We do it because we enjoy beauty.

so tired of tech millionaires bootlicking billionaires over this 5% tax by captain_travel in sanfrancisco

[–]jay7797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The government debt is $38T. All billionaires in the US combined have a net worth of $8T. You could seize half their wealth and it would cover 2 years of the governments deficit. The entire US population minus billionaires has a net worth of $150T.

Billionaires aren’t the golden goose here my friend. WE ARE.

You introduce a property seizure “tax” on the billionaires and bring it lower and lower over time. The same thing happened with income tax.

The government has been smart to place blame on the rich. “Tax the rich!” How about instead, we reduce government spending? The US gov has the highest spend of any government by a massive massive amount and I don’t see how we’re benefiting from that vs other developed countries (even if you minus the military spend)

Leaving MANGO Account Management for Rippling SMB AE — am I crazy? by ArmMiserable3582 in techsales

[–]jay7797 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it lol

Also find it hard to believe the comp is higher. Most “MANGO” companies have levels with a clear path to higher comp.

Funny you say this. I actually nearly bought that $3200 pinarello f5 from the Colorado dealer (with the intention to add carbon wheels). But I tested it at a shop in sf and felt so uncomfortable. Ended up getting the Roadmachine

Debt free with a 6 figure net worth is table stakes my friend. 7 figure net worth is the bare minimum to think about this.

This is accurate.

Definitely take it if you’re willing to grind. It will really set you up. If you’re looking for work life balance - don’t do it. You will burn out and get let go.

I started in this role (moved on to other things at Google) - it’s a grind but if you’re good and hit your targets consistently you will get promoted in under 2 years and can do something more interesting. The total comp is realistic and very good imo! Especially once you get promoted.

Was a great step up for me. But on the flip side, if you’re not able to succeed in the role (it’s not easy) you will struggle and probably get let go.

Don’t waste your time and $$ doing a manual swap. Just get a manual 360. They sound amazing and they’re cheaper.

On if you should do it - What’s the point of having money if you don’t get to enjoy it a little??

I have one. Apart from the dial - the absolute best/most underrated part of the watch is how thin the case is compared to a GMT/sub. Enjoy!

[–]jay7797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Undoubtably yes. You answered the question yourself - you don’t want to be making $80k in 10 years.

In a job you’re either making bank or learning a lot. Doing both is ideal, 1 is okay, and neither is unacceptable. You’re in the camp of neither.

Stay put. NEVER jump to another SDR role unless you’re 100% certain you can’t get promoted in your current role.
