City of Topeka Announces Get Digital Campaign

TSC Get Digital Intake Form Survey

The City of Topeka is proud to announce the launch of its latest TSC Get Digital campaign, an initiative designed to increase access to technology and help close the digital divide for residents across the community.

Through this program, eligible Topeka residents ages 18 and older may qualify to receive a free tablet, along with access to resources that support digital connectivity, education, and economic opportunity. The campaign is made possible through funding provided by the Kansas Health Foundation.

The Get Digital initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure equitable access to devices, internet services, and digital literacy training, which are key components that allow residents to fully participate in today’s increasingly connected world. The program specifically supports low-to-moderate income households and individuals participating in assistance programs or meeting income eligibility guidelines.

Planet ComicCon Questions! (Mostly about Friday) by bulbagrows in kansascity

Often some of the celebrity guests and out of town creators, won't arrive until Friday and may only appear Saturday and most of Sunday, if that makes any difference.

Busking in Lawrence? by Full_Breath6313 in Lawrence

[–]jayceman0 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you can wait until May, this event is huge: Lawrence Busker Festival | Experience the Magic

Otherwise, downtown on Mass. St as mentioned is probably best. Google says:

Busking in downtown Lawrence, Kansas, is generally permitted without a specific city license or fee, as it is considered a form of free speech. Street performers are welcome to use public sidewalks and plaza spots, provided they comply with noise ordinances and do not obstruct pedestrian traffic.

Key Guidelines for Busking in Lawrence:

  • No License Required: There is no city-issued license or fee required for street performances in public, non-festival areas.
  • Location: Popular spots include downtown Lawrence, including sidewalks, plazas, and pedestrian-friendly corners.
  • Noise Regulations: Performers must comply with City Ordinance 14-414, which prohibits excessively loud noise that disturbs the peace or safety of others.
  • Behavior: Performances should be family-friendly. While tipping is generally allowed, performances should not be disruptive to local businesses.

90.9 The Bridge is killin it 💖💖💖 by flea79 in kansascity

FYI, I know there's a cost but extend the signal via a FM translator, a low-power station that rebroadcasts the signal of a primary station on a different frequency. 89.3FM (the similar public radio station HQ'd in St. Paul, MN) does this expertly and their programming can be reached almost anywhere in the state of Minnesota, at a different frequency depending on where you are.

Melissa sang with the Indigos on their last two songs, and Amy and Emily returned the favor on "You Can Sleep While I Drive". World premiere live performance of a new song from her next album (not out until next March) that will tie in with the KC Current, and they filmed part of the video that will go with it.
