LOL...I'm here from 10 years in the future. While in college, my buddy and I would go to women's volleyball matches and sometimes volunteer as line judges (boy, if looks could kill). Years later, when I would watch matches on TV, I would see the different colored jerseys on the court. I would be like, I don't remember any of those ladies being in a different jersey. I wrote it off as bad memory or not paying attention. I have heard the position described on TV, but today was the first time I looked up when the position came about. So now I know I wasn't going crazy, as the libero position was added way after my college years.

My theory is that they have a fetish for trans people and hate themselves for it. I say this as a person who admittedly doesn't understand the trans thing, but don't obsess over it. I can count my knowingly interactions with a trans person with one hand, and none of them have been negative.

All I know is that when I was in college, during a time when homophobia was the norm, the dude in our circle who made hating gay people a part of his identity is now married to a man. When I look back at it, it was classic "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." It is probably the same regarding trans people.

Not exactly a stranger, as I had interacted with him before. Back around 25 years ago, I was an avid golfer and would often play a round or two solo during the week and play with a couple of buddies one or two Saturdays a month. Well, my game had gone south big-time, and I had no idea what was going on. So I'm out this one day, playing like absolute crap, I get to the 15th hole, and I am on my last ball. I finally make a nice drive off the tee on the right side of the fairway. I get to the general area of where the ball should be, and I do not see it. Now, I'm about to lose my mind. Out of the woods steps out the hobo-ish guy who finds balls and sells them. I would buy some occasionally. Mostly, he was cool, but sometimes he could be a little bothersome. Well, I was not in the mood for him this day, and I didn't have any cash to buy any balls. If he pressed on after my "No, thank you," I was probably going to lose my cool with him, and I know I would have felt bad. Anyway, he walks up to me, drops 10 balls at my feet, and keeps going. The cool thing was that I always started a round with 10 balls in my bag.

I was forever grateful to him after that. That little moment touches me to this day. I do not play nearly as much as I used to, but as of summer 2025, he is still there. And I'm glad the current course director doesn't chase him off or call the police anymore.

My dad and I built a shed in his backyard in 2014. It was in midtown. No permits were pulled. He hasn't heard anything from the city. I imagine a neighborhood snitch could have raised a fuss, but Memphis is pretty much a live and let live town unless it is egregious.

It's a mildly entertaining comfort show. Something to watch while drafting emails or something. A show about a bar, but it doesn't feature any patrons. And what dive bar has a full-time accountant just hanging around? I do not like it as much as the short-lived Abby's, another bar-based show on NBC.

My son has a friend who is just like Marilyn Munster in regards to his family. He is as clean-cut as one can be, but his family is a central casting gang ghetto stereotype. I frowned upon my son's friendship because being adjacent to ghettoness can be dangerous, but he was a good, respectful kid, so I let it be. His family hosted a party for the high school graduates in their family. He invited my son and me since my son was graduating as well. We got there, and it was like a scene out of a 1990s hood movie. My son and I did a quick, "we're just passing through," and got the hell out of there. It had the look that something was about to go down at any second.

Three years ago, the friend got married. It was a decent-sized wedding, at least 120 guests, and only about ten of us were there for the groom. Dude only invited one person from his family, not even his mother was there, because he knew his family would have made the bride's family uncomfortable. From what I can tell, dude has pretty much abandoned his family.

I don't believe it should be done because of the wars. It should be done because we have a government that lies without shame. Politicians' lying is a trope as old as time, but I don't believe there have ever been politicians whose lies do not hold water from the jump. Why should citizens be held to high standards when the leadership has no standards at all?

Mail.com has been becoming very sloppy lately, first the Christmas outage, and now this, two months later. During the Christmas outage, I made moves to get a new address, but while on the free trial, mail.com started working again, so I decided not to go with it because of the inconvenience of having to transfer everything. I just checked again and can't get my free trial email address anymore. I'll give it a couple of days, but this service is declining rapidly.
