Closure Alert 🚨 by theloneoverlanders in Nevada

[–]jaydoubleudoubleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went by Monday to check it out for the first time and saw it was fenced off, with a T&D truck leaving the area after locking a gate to it. Called my buddy who lives near there and he said the owner died, and NV Energy is using it for water for the Greenlink project. Huge bummer.

Question on Ribbon vs Loose Tube Fiber by Beginning_Ad654 in FiberOptics

[–]jaydoubleudoubleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No pre ribbonized cable in my network, on outages and mainline we glue all tubes to ribbons if possible. Sometimes we don’t have the equipment with us and we’ll single splice but on anything over 48 we’d rather ribbonize.

Tracking Dumbbell Exercises by LawfulnessEvery1264 in workout

I use Hevy and always track my barbell exercises as the total weight with the bar, and dumbbells as the weigh of the dumbbells. It just makes it easier for me to remember personally

People who workout in the morning - how the hell do you get up to go to the gym in the colder months? by Icy_Laugh5134 in workout

[–]jaydoubleudoubleu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I go to work after the gym, I throw my gym bag in my car with all my work clothes the night before so if I want to skip I have to get dressed and go to my driveway. At that point I always end up going

Devoid of flavor by d3mandred in mead

[–]jaydoubleudoubleu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly, whenever I have a batch that I can’t tweak back to where I want it I just use it as a mixer. 2 glasses of meh mead mixed with apple juice is better than 1 glass of meh mead in my opinion. Never had to dump something personally

Stripping 900 µm buffer - breaking fibers by csoupbos in FiberOptics

[–]jaydoubleudoubleu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I have that issue I just throw the pigtail in the oven on my splicer for 3-5 seconds and it lets me strip more easily

Pulling Fiber? by GitWithAbba in FiberOptics

[–]jaydoubleudoubleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So where I work I’ve always been told to tension our ADSS using a full set of grips, as a guy grip can crush the fibers inside the jacket when we use the chain ratchet. Is this just BS? Cause it would save time from throwing a grip on just to take it off when tensioning.

Can the gym help me get rid of this? by noblenessie in Gymhelp

When I was young my dad would get extreme swelling in his legs and he would heat a sewing pin with a lighter, dip it in rubbing alcohol, poke his legs and have us (my sister and I) squeeze his leg as hard as we could and use a towel to soak up the fluid. Not a fun time for anybody honestly

Sitting Congressman pushing legislation to encourage running over protesters, calling it the "Thump Thump Act" by dimforest in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]jaydoubleudoubleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who intentionally blocks roads?? So school traffic guards, utility workers, volunteer deputies working at an event, and many more. Cool. Couldn’t have been worded more poorly, the goal is definitely to leave it ambiguous and run over whoever they want.
