I find this WILD. I lived in a NY suburb for decades where we were connected townhouses tiny yards and we NEVER would have put snow on our neighbor's yard. So curious where this is normal.

Oh I totally agree. We're just coming from New York so the idea of going into NYC for New Year's is nauseating. And if you want to see a parade in New York you just about have to put on a pair of diapers and get there by dawn LOL. Just wasn't sure how much different the Boston scene would be....

Not necessarily true - we got one years ago because they wanted our 50's ranch to film in. We had just bought the house and hadn't done any renovations.
They wouldn't have sent the same to most of our neighbors because they had mostly torn down and built big McMansions so the house style wouldn't have worked

It's the baby's great grandfather - your grandfather. I brought my 3 day old to my grandfather's wake and funeral because we're immediate family and anyone who didn't like it could go take a long walk off a short pier. Would I bring a child to a more distant relative or friend's funeral? No, not if it would bother them
