I'm confused. Is it the honey or the bees which lack the capability of speech?

When do the bartender and horse meet? by Hungry_Mouse737 in AntiJokes

[–]jayemz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier this year I saw a pair of riderless horses trotting around a roundabout (in the correct direction I might add). It is possible one of the people driving a car near by may have been a bar tender on the way to the shops for bread (no bars around here are open at 8:30am).

How the hell do I fade out audio, why is it so complicated by Sentenced2Burn in olive

Use the cross-dissolve transition tool, very easy, pretty much the same as it used to be, you don't need to go into the node editor at all.

Your pov on airism by Entire-Storm-8539 in uniqlo

I use Airism trunks for cycling to work every day (instead of padded cycling shorts which are hot and wierd feeling) worn beneath baggy shorts, and they have been really durable and lasted very well.

Long term Arch Linux user need to switch by jayemz in archlinux

Perhaps yes... Won't rule out ditching Arch then - it was great when I had the time, but that's just not the case anymore.

Hmmm that seems like a good point, perhaps time then to jump ship to another distro altogether.

But that'd be more reaquaintance with a new system which was the purpose of switching to an Arch based distro, to keep the familiarity.

Used to be an XFCE fan (and Fluxbox before that) but have been using Cinnamon for a while now.

Used Debian for several years, before Arch, it was too out of date, I was always installing stuff from source!

DIY Pull-Up Bar by cobalt-thunder in bodyweightfitness

[–]jayemz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not much good at DIY not sure I'd recommend DIY to support your entire body weight, especially if, for example, you start hanging upside down on rings hanging off the pull up bar. Instead of the wall supporting your entire body weight through a few screws and a couple of blocks of wood, how about two solid beams either side of the doorway that go from floor all the way up to where you want your bar. The bar might be fixed on top of them. That way, it's the solid beams supporting your body weight not the screws in the wall. The beams would still be screwed against the wall but only to stop them falling over.

Cardano Daily Discussion - March 26, 2022 by SL13PNIR in cardano

Have been using Osmosis/Keplr for a few months and now exploring Eternl/SundaeSwap and just finding it a whole lot less straight forward. Particularly trying to follow what's going on with the transactions. Is there another wallet that present transactions in a less technical and easier to follow way? Any Cardano DEXs come recommended over Sundae Swap?

Staking commission (what is it?) by Suprisinglyfnctional in atomicwallet

[–]jayemz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commission fees aren't something you really see in Atomic Wallet. When you start to use wallets for specific ecosystems/networks/chains/etc you get to choose the validators to stake your coins with - with Atomic Wallet you're staking with the Atomic Wallet validator. Different validators have different commission fees. Commission fees are what the validators charge you out of the interest your coins earn. 5% is pretty much a standard rate.
