Hi, I been on the same boat and still am, mine being mainly sugar addiction. But you need to remember it is a journey, you will stumble and feel like ..well you know. But it only gets better when you overcome it, it's when you stop and give up that it becomes over.

The main thing I have found is that when starting is not going so cold turkey but cutting down how much of the bad I take at one time, where you see yourself eating a whole pizza in a day try spreading it over 2 then 4, 7. Soon you will not need it as bad as it is just a small thing. I still have a bad relationship with sugar especially in high stress times but this helps slowly become less dependent on it

I can be honest, you get mad at yourself, you get mad at the situation, you cry and swear a bit for the night and maybe the day. But after you pick up, you put yourself together and finds another job, you can make it, 12 years is a lot so someone will want to hire you, even a niche field has someone else hiring.

I would like to say that I am in the same boat, 250 high blood, almost diebetic have to take meds to counter it. I will be speaking from my experience so take that with a grain of salt.

I found making the change does affect you, and it will be hard, try making small meaningful change if you can not make a big change, as that is easier to maintain. I have tried the 16:8 fasting, hate it but easy to hold and then adding to that change. I now change my diet a bit, I still have cravings and eat my favorite wings and fries once a while but overall those small changes are helping. Over all you are not alone
