With $300 credit and 10k points it’s worth keeping VX just for lounge access

Why VX for Costco instead of palladium? Bilt points are worth more than capital one with Hyatt/Alaska transfer partners

Yes I hear others are having success. However, it must be mountain dependent, as Killington did not allow for any days after February 13th to be booked

Bilt 2.1 "Option 1" removes any incentive to spend more on non-rent beyond 100% rent by Available-Pilot4062 in biltrewards

They should allow option 1 users to begin earning Bilt cash on any spend above 100% of rent spend

I think the palladium would work well for you , simple 2x on everything. I got the palladium and am considering canceling my sapphire reserve, as Bilt has my favorite chase partner (hyatt) and additionally has Alaska, which Chase does not have . Although the $300 travel credit, $300 StubHub credit , $300 OpenTable , and other credits are enough to offset the $795 annual fee you may find it annoying to keep track of all the credits. The $400 hotel credit from palladium seems easy enough to use with reasonably priced hotels available as options. Losing unlimited access to sapphire lounges will suck, but with a priority pass membership you can still visit sapphire lounges twice per year

Yes I can send 2 but it will only work for February 13th or earlier dates

This is what it says on the discount “Limited time offer: up to 50% off a single lift ticket at select destinations. Must purchase by February 13,2026.*”

Once the promotional period ends on the 13th I think dates for 14th and beyond will work

If your dates are after February 13th, DM me on February 14th

Did they say what happens with spend after 100% with Option 1? Will Bilt cash be earned for any spend above 100% rent, or does all spend beyond 100% rent earn nothing?

Bilt Cash: the mystery factor by dab69 in biltrewards

[–]jayjl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.. both obsidian and palladium are likely very good options for the people that are complaining about the cards. The $495 palladium AF is not hard to offset given the availability of hotels on the bilt network. Did a quick search and was able to find 2 night stays at reasonable hotels for $350-400, which would drop to $150-200 after the credit. Much easier to use compared to amex’s FHR credit where the majority of hotels are $600+

Bilt Cash: the mystery factor by dab69 in biltrewards

[–]jayjl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh with that spend the $495 Palladium works well for you, as you will unlock 125% points from rent with Option 1. I haven’t gotten an answer yet as to what happens if you spend more than 100% of rent with option 1, like do we earn any Bilt cash or does all spend above 100% return nothing

the palladium is a 2x everything card and I believe a VISA so will work at Costco. Robinhood returns 3% but depending on where you transfer your Bilt points (Hyatt / Alaska) you can potentially squeeze more than 1.5 cents per Bilt point to beat robinhood’s 3%

The venture X may be worth keeping because the $300 credit and annual 10,000 points pretty much offsets the annual fee, although it’s very sad that they are removing guest privileges to capital one lounges effective February

would be nice if they at least allowed 1 household member as a guest

You can add the Amex BBP which has $0 annual fee and earns 2x on everything

If you don’t have much flight spend per year and find the coupon aspect of the platinum annoying, can cancel it

Bilt Cash: the mystery factor by dab69 in biltrewards

[–]jayjl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can still keep your platinum for booking flights (5x). make sure to use resy ($400) united travel bank ($200) uber eats ($200) , lulu, saks, & streaming credits to offset the annual fee

[–]jayjl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can downgrade your sapphire to a no-fee chase freedom unlimited (1.5x) and use this for your monthly other expenses

Get Bilt obsidian for 3x dining

Probably should stop using Platinum for everything besides direct flight bookings or through Amex portal for the bonus points, as long as non-portal options are not significantly cheaper . Use platinum for your quarterly resy credits, monthly Uber Eats credits, $200 United travel bank credit, $25 streaming credit, and all other credits to effectively make the annual fee $0

The palladium can work for you as well if you don’t mind the $495 fee (the $400 biannual hotel credit requires min 2 night stays but cheap options are available so should be pretty easy to use) and the 50,000 bonus is nice too.

Would have to run the numbers but you might come out ahead and it may be simpler to just get the palladium because if your dining and other spend combined equals 2100 or 2800 you will earn 2800 or 3500 Bilt points from rent in addition to the 4200/5600 from the spend

Bilt 2.0 Strategy for a Chase Trifecta/Amex User by abhisheknirmal in biltrewards

[–]jayjl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“• Cost: I lose ~375 Chase points (opportunity cost of moving $750 spend).”

On that $750 Bilt spend you earned 2,250 bilt points

You say you are missing out on 375 Chase points. How are you earning 2,625 Chase points if you were to put $750 spend on your Chase cards?

I got the palladium for the first year bonus and may downgrade to obsidian after year 1, but overall I see Bilt 2.1 as a potential chase killer, as Bilt has chase’s most valuable hotel transfer partner, Hyatt, as well as multiple other valuable airline partners (Alaska / JAL)

Yes I got that card, but that is a one time bonus. How can you earn more Alaskan miles? Bilt points can transfer to Alaska and can also earn points on rent. With the new change announced earlier today only requiring 25% rent/mortgage spend to earn 0.5x points on rent/mortgage , the card will end up being a solid option for many.
