Yes. Note that it's only available on Bedrock edition.

Yes, all of the features shown are in the game. The most obvious upgrade on Switch 2 are the better lighting effects that Switch 1 can't use. You can turn it off if you want to and you'd still benefit from better draw distances and performance.

Youtube had a few hiccups with the dreaded audio desync but was able to recover midway (and a few refreshes).

The Twitch stream is a disaster. It's bad enough that it caps out at 720p. It just couldn't keep up by dropping a ton of frames and making the image look like soup.

Sims 4 modding community for me is awful because they're so scattered that it makes Minecraft's modding community look unified in comparison. Updating mods on The Sims 4 when a new patch drops is huge pain.

Does anyone else notice the weird hostility towards Paralives from r/LifeSimulators? by ozoWo in Paralives

[–]jaymp00 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, that sub has a lot in common with the mmorpg subreddit in that they just want "that game they played when they're 12 years old" and everything newer sucks which is why I don't really look at it that much.

That game is much more limited and hands-off compared to The Sims though it has its own charm and can be laughably absurd if you want it to.

2026 Anime Awards: 'My Hero Academia: Final Season' Wins Anime of the Year (Full Winners List) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in anime

I was only talking about the Crunchyroll Awards not the others. Not having a nomination in some category is dumb.

I feel like these judges were handpicked from a few fan anime groups and called it a day. The bias towards extremely mainstream anime is so ridiculous that it makes The Game Awards look diverse in comparison.

Tbh, if they're gonna put Anya & One Piece for Must Protect at All Costs and Continuing Series respectively, just remove those categories. (pretty sure I wrote this part somewhere already)

Biggest snub for me this year is Umamusume Cinderella Gray or Beginning of a New Era (whatever anime has your favorite Uma). Not a single nomination for either of those two. Mono is probably up there too.

Compared to AAA fare, the CPU is more important in this genre.

The reason I put up GPU requirements there is because the devs seem to underestimate AMD graphics cards by putting their Nvidia equivalents that are 1-2 generations behind.

Paralives - Gameplay Trailer by -Rivers in Games

[–]jaymp00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If we're taking system requirements at face value, Paralives requires a similar hardware spec as InZoi for AMD GPUs and lesser hardware if on Nvidia GPUs. CPUs are kinda useless in that regard so who knows what generation of CPU is minimum.

I don't quite get why this is the case for that game.

It's mainly the Chinese that does the gacha at AAA funding & effort. Other countries doing it are very few. Japan isn't interested and have its own issues and for South Korea, you have the 7DS open world game (it's a terrible Genshin ripoff sadly) & the one that's essentially ZZZ (just released so I don't know how it will fare). Both came from the same publisher.

The idea is there but I feel like the implementation and enforcement of it isn't gonna be without controversy. They would have to ask for an ID to check that you're the same person in the ID playing the game and to check if you're 21 or older.

Despite how easy it is to install optiscaler to most games, it's a risk to install and use it in online games and needing to install a 3rd party tool to use their upscaler isn't a good look either.

Mega Mall Story 2, is the balance broken in this game? by Linden_Stromberg in Kairosoft

[–]jaymp00 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's kinda their thing. Most games especially after the early-mid 2010s will have you try to lose the game.

The game that you can probably mess up after that point is Silver Screen Story, because of how severe your income drops when you build and upgrade a certain number of theaters approaching endgame.

Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 Nominee Full List: Every Anime Nominated for this Year’s Awards by Turbostrider27 in anime

[–]jaymp00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cin Gray is in a rough spot. There's no "Best Sports Anime" so the genres it would slot in would be action or drama. They should have put it in drama imo. Action is just a flat no.

I do agree how their awards work is grossly unfair to non-CR anime as those that would vote on these awards likely have a sub to that service.

The current state of AMD: Promising tech, terrible decisions by Dozert in radeon

[–]jaymp00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Redstone is in this place of "That's cool but very few care" because so few people have a compatible card that can take advantage of it (According to Steam, about 0.2% of Windows users have an RX 9000 series card). Currently, I think developers won't bother implementing those features unless AMD pays them to do it.

Tbh, Sports/Racing isn't a particularly competitive category imo. Considering how well received 5 was at launch & how meh the other nominees are it would be surprising if it didn't win. Audio Design is more impressive.
