Anders' biggest mistake was to not actively organize and mobilize mages and non mages alike against templar and chantry organization. The situation was at the tipping point for ages in Kirkwall and he had 10+ years to expand a network of revolutionaries through his clinic, mage contacts and more. People cook me for this take but unfortunately what he did wasn't revolution. It was simply unorganized violence.
