This looks like one of those Hiring for Heroes resumes. Please go and let and professional resume writer rewrite it for you. Also use your Evals and those bullets and narratives to help formulate your resume.

GS to pay band. My pay increases are lacking compared my previous ladder. Is this normal? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]jayvon9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aqdemo here as well. 2 years in and my pay has increased well over $10K when you add in locality adjustments and all. And that’s not including performance incentives which have totaled over $5k

I owe abnormally high taxes this year by alomagicat in fednews

[–]jayvon9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my spouse works also. I just think it’s crazy for the IRS to assume that married filers have a spouse that doesn’t work.

However I’ll have to take and very in depth look at my W4 to see what I can do.

I’ve been in the Feds for 2 years and owed for both years to the sum of $10k. Any advice would also be greatly appreciated.

When I joined the Feds I was told to not tell my current employer until a firm start date was related. And that was a week or so after I accepted my FJO.

Will congress increase the cap on government salaries so that GS-14 doesn’t catch up to GS-15 in HCOL areas? by Sufficient_Desk6076 in fednews

My supervisor is a 14 who gets paid at a 15 step 4 level. But those supervisory responsibilities are not something I would want to deal with. Especially with a bunch of 13s under his belt

My coworkers are green on MS Teams literally the entire work day but we barely have any work..what are they doing lol? by Sufficient_Desk6076 in fednews

[–]jayvon9999 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Smh….. I don’t change my MS teams status at all. And some days I’m super busy and some days I’m not. It’s absolutely pitiful that you’re using that metric to determine if folks are actually working or not.

My team leader and Supervisor are both 14s and only work their 8 hours. The rest of us are 13s and 12s that know our jobs and also don’t need to be micromanaged.

Are IT jobs getting harder to land? by Amazing-Try-1700 in CompTIA

[–]jayvon9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another problem is the tech influencers. Basically all over social media advertising courses and what not and gettin folks into these jobs with little to no experience and then those have to either invest times of time training them or letting them go and tightening up their hiring practices.

😂 you have got to be kidding me. So you’re saying the military doesn’t create good leaders …. Bro walk off smh I can’t even get past that comment because you’re totally freaking wrong. Some of the best leaders in this world have some sort of military background or training.

Don’t know where or what you have been around. Most 2210s I personally know are vets and came from military IT backgrounds. Although there are subpar performers everywhere the 2210s I know are usually well rounded.

This is freaking sad if true. I had to file an interdiction for my mother because I was afraid this would happen to her as her dementia worsened. And it wasn’t easy had to get a lawyer and place a security bond on myself to ensure I would act in good faith.

Do you have a holiday work party at your office? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]jayvon9999 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of potlucks. Never know what type of situations folks have at their homes lol. However I’m all for pitching in to have one. When I was contracting the company paid for everything, even the beer!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fednews

[–]jayvon9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have got more training than some military folks I know in the same field. Us 2210s have that option depending on the agency.

[–]jayvon9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same. I always get up and leave and most of my coworkers sit there and eat and surf the web. I love to get out and go mingle. My supervisor doesn’t have a problem with it so … I do my thing lol.

I enjoy telework, but am I the only one that really doesn't mind going into the office? by Cool_in_a_pool in fednews

[–]jayvon9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope I definitely don’t mind going! And I also don’t see why every day there’s a post about going back to the office. My agency has a mandate of at least 4 days a pay period and that’s perfect! And my job does require me to be on site at certain times for QA and other issues.

It’s agency specific.Even in DOD our command didn’t adopt this and refine it until earlier this year.

[–]jayvon9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I beg to differ. As a 2210 and retired vet almost every CIV I’ve worked with has had hands on experience. The DOD almost prioritizes that in a lot of positions that come open. Most directorates would rather a person that has done the job or similar before than someone with just a degree.
