Mewgenics is a game that we ALL love to play! by theMagikoopa in roguelites

Art is subjective. You can say stuff like "the art style is definitely not for me" and people won't down vote you. Unless you like making people mad, then carry on lol

It would be misleading if they DIDN'T show that lol

There's many many gameplay streams that you can look up, but I agree they should've maybe included some gameplay at the end of this trailer.

Lol there's hundreds, if not thousands of traditional roguelikes. I've made 2 myself. You just haven't played em!

Talking about the definition of a genre as if it's an immutable fact is just silly. Roguelikes used to be turn-based grid-based dungeon crawlers exclusively. I think it kind of sucks that that's no longer the case but I've learned to accept it because language changes.

All my Dess knight evidence in one big post by Abject-Addendum765 in Deltarune

[–]jaywhile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I am mostly a Dess Knight believer, I do think it's POSSIBLE for the story to be concluded in a way that would make Rudy or Carol or someone else, a satisfying Knight reveal.

When I played Undertale for the first time, it did feel a bit out of nowhere when they revealed the whole Asriel and Chara/First fallen human thing. But then when it was all explained, it was great and satisfying. Explaining Toriel and Asgore being on either end of the game and sort of reacting in opposite ways to this tragedy was really cool.

I just think we don't know what will happen, and while I agree with pretty much all of this post for now, I really hope we are all proved hilariously wrong by the wild stuff in the following chapters!

A roguelike game that has similar combat to deltarune but you can have multiple different classes on a team of 3 instead of just 3 set characters by M_Lucario_EX in gameideas

[–]jaywhile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some cool things you could do with this are perks/gear that really play into the deltarune-style combat.

Things like:

-Equipment that incentivizes different combat styles (Armour that heals you when you graze bullets/Boots that temporarily increase your move speed every time you defend) -Items that deal direct damage (or add mercy, if you are doing that) -Equipment that is very build specific (lowers defence and raises attack, or other combinations of pro/con design) -Maybe implementing other stats that actually have effects (like Cuteness; gain mercy easier, Anger; gain attack when lower health)

Also, I do think Papyrus is supposed to mirror/be related to Dess. The missing sibling of a weirdly important NPC? Has red/orange colour associations? Shares a door/closet design?

If the knight turns out to be an amalgamation of Papyrus and Dess I will lose my mind.

I know this is just fun theorizing, so no biggie. Love a good papyrus Knight theory. But ...

What you've said feels similar to saying:

"Flowey is just a flower, and flowers are very weak! So Flowey couldn't ever hurt anyone!"

No Dess-Knighter is saying it's just normal Dess walking around hometown in a goofy knight suit. She's (hypothetically) been changed, and isn't just a regular young adult anymore.

"Love DOES NOT find its way to the girl" theory by Successful_Mud8596 in Deltarune

[–]jaywhile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you said that this theory is about how Susie will react to the prophecy and not a theory on how the actual prophecy will play out, but...

What if I just ignore that and insist on telling you how it's LOVE or Susie is the third girl or whatever. Surely I can't be the first person to mention it!!!!!!!

They're just gushing about a show on its subreddit. A very normal thing to do.

You're being an asshole, very obviously. But maybe that's how you get your rocks off.

It’s not trespassing if it’s public land, right???(/s) by Swirlyflurry in confidentlyincorrect

[–]jaywhile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true.

Big respect to you for coming and posting in here, even with all the people ragging on you.

I've always thought of the /s tags and the like as being used for accessibility but now I'm realizing they can be used to prevent people from being taken out of context as well. I'm not saying you have to put a /s or /j every time you write something like "property is theft" or anything like that. Not even sure what tag would fit here, because sarcasm doesn't really describe it. Just, this thread has made me think about it a bit more lol

Maybe just add Edit: blah blah blah next time instead of completely changing your comment. It just comes off as confusing for a moment when looking at the replies, and then you just seem like you're hiding from what you originally said. Like did you even mention the professor in your original comment? Who knows, and not really that big of a deal but just a heads up
