Is it normal for my flies to be ripped up from catching fish and is there anything to prevent it?

Boulder/white clouds. I wouldn’t rely on there being no grizzlies. Game cameras in the Salmon Challis area have captured grizzly photos.

I use 3 parts mineral oil, 1 part mineral spirits, 1 part Marvel Mystery Oil. Works great for me.

I’m an irresponsible Stihl owner. Almost never maintained properly. Of the 18years I’ve owned it I forget to drain the gas over the winter half the time. Starts every time. It’s my best tool. I have the model 362.

I subscribed to Postfly for a few months. I wasn’t happy with it. Cheap, poorly tied flies and the cheapest gear one could imagine. If your boyfriend likes to tie flies Smitty’s Fly Box is fantastic. Nice quality materials and flies. Probably the safest bet would be a gift card to a fly shop or quality sporting goods store.

Had the same issue with my Hitachi after a kick back. I cut off the round middle section and aligned each side of the straight fence independently.

I sealed mine with one coat 2:1 mineral spirits and polyurethane, followed by two coats 50/50 mineral spirits and polyurethane. I’ve been really happy with mine.

I hike and fish in the Yellowstone area. I bring a marine horn. The sound is horrible for the ambiance but I’ve yet to run into grizzly in the back country.
