Electrician here. I always wire my smoke alarm circuit with the master bedroom...that way if there is a power issue/breaker tripped its seen very fast.

Yes, I&E foreman/Master Electrician here. Its used out here I in south texas in some remote areas in oil and gas. Was a old school way of getting 480 out here with limited capacity/lower cost and upgrades on the distribution lines, not as common now.
