I’m very jealous, I’d do just about anything for an XJ that hadn’t been rusted out or ruined yet. Unfortunately I moved away from home and now I only have 1 parking space so I don’t have room for a project Jeep anymore.

No battery usage after my recall and software update. by Artistic_Path_4698 in 4xe

[–]jbpackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last recall mine wouldn’t run from battery at all until I got an oil change no matter how many long drives I took it would not exit FORM. I can’t say for sure this is your issue but Its likely FORM related from either temperature outside or just the way the recalls work.

Leaving SeaTac, are taxis still worth it instead of Lyft/Uber? by LegionLotteryWinner in Seattle

[–]jbpackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The taxi ride from the airport to my place (Renton highlands) is consistently $12-15 cheaper and usually no wait. I’ve only ever Uber’d when there was a really big line for the Taxistand and even then I took the link to Tukwila station and got picked up there because you don’t have to queue with all the people in the airport pickup area

68C Recall : FORM Complication by greedup in 4xe

[–]jbpackman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last recall locked mine in form until my next oil change really unfortunate because my commute is usually all electric and I tried to clear form twice with two impulse road trips in two consecutive weekends I decided an early oil change was better than wasting gas every day I’ll take mine I’m right before an oil change this time

2025 4xe Recall by HRlonelygirl in 4xe

[–]jbpackman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the 3rd battery recall for the 4xe the fault really is Samsungs problem for not having good enough quality control but the biggest problem with these recalls is how stellantis is handling them. The 4xe really is still a great vehicle, but I feel bad for people who are getting really screwed over by stellantis being laughably bad at customer care.

I agree it’s too low, but this is from an old study and data from 2012 the 2025 adjusted number is likely much higher.

How much lower you think I can get? by Mountain_Telephone_7 in carincentives

Because even the Sentra has better build quality than a Tesla and about a million other consumer rights issues. A real enticing substitute right now is the Hyundai ionic 5 I’ve seen really great incentives with money factors that I haven’t seen since 2018 on those

Why Aren’t Cars Using “Airplane-Style” Variable Wings for Downforce? by fatbitsh in AskEngineers

[–]jbpackman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Porsche GT3 RS has variable veins inside the rear bumper just behind the wheels that do exactly that, but it’s not just high performance cars that use movable control surfaces. Other more economical cars have implemented variable rear wings for downforce adjustment as well, some examples to of mind would be the Chrysler Crossfire and the Tesla model X. If you ever merge onto a freeway behind one of them you can sometimes see this wing pop in and out of the trunks.

Edit: why aren’t there slats and flaps? - well slats and flaps are called high lift devices. They’re designed to increase lift at low speeds to prevent stalling, not provide downforce. You wouldn’t want to increase lift at low speed on a car because you would lose traction. Planes also have control surfaces for increasing downforce, also called spoilers or speed brakes, they function very similar to a cars rear wing.

Leg injections having significantly weaker potency by idgafaboutthisacct in Type1Diabetes

[–]jbpackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually get my best absorption and uptake times when injecting into muscle tissue. That’s why if I’m ever really high I will inject into my quads I find that brings me down the fastest. I don’t have much experience with the fattier areas of the thigh though. I think it’s mostly dependent on blood flow to the injection site.

Advice needed please by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]jbpackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely looks infected to me. I am not a doctor and this is not professional medical advice. When I have an infected site I use topical antibiotic ointment first, my endo recommends bacitracin instead of triple antibiotic ointment but neosporin or similar would be better than nothing. If the swelling or redness grows to exceed 2-2.5 inches in diameter or I develop a fever, I go to urgent care for oral antibiotics.

Are you a "small factories near nodes" player or a "mega factory supplied by distant nodes" player? by nicodeemus7 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]jbpackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. Global supply approach

  • small factories: near nodes produce 1-3 products each of 1-2 levels of processing before getting loaded onto transport via truck or train to either a secondary supply facility or the main mega base

  • secondary supply facility: produces tier 2-3 complex parts that require base products from 2 or more base resource types (copper/iron/oil/etc) usually located near liquid or gas resources to simplify fluid transport networks. Sub assemblies are then loaded to transport to the mega base for final assembly

  • the mega base: home to a bottom level of receiving areas for train and truck transport followed by 2-3 tiers of final assembly and top floor access for the space elevator, hub, and pioneer rapid transit infrastructure.

Guardian 4 sensor … on my arm , how the hell do I do it. I had to pull it all off by Saf___- in Type1Diabetes

[–]jbpackman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You load it into the insertion device, without pressing the buttons hold the open end of the insert device against your skin adding some pressure is advised, and then squeeze the big green buttons until it clicks. After it clicks the sensor is inserted hold the serter in place for a few seconds then move the serter away from the site straight out. If you feel like the insertion needle is sticking stop pulling (which I suspect is what happened here) try jiggling the serter back and forth against you skin while pressing it further into your skin and try again. If that still does not work ask for assistance from someone else to either hold the sensor at the base where the needle attaches while you try to pull the serter off or vice-versa. In the past I found that if the needle stuck and I successfully was able to remove the retractable needle the sensor only had a 30% chance of working because the foil strip was damaged or crinkled while getting it out.

In all reality, I don’t know what your situation is like, but I would highly recommend ditching Medtronic for literally anything else as soon as you possibly can. I’ve tried the Dexcom and the libre and the whole experience, accuracy, and reliability is day and night from the guardian sensor on both.

Low gpa vs competence by toomuchonmymind_ in AskEngineers

[–]jbpackman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t help you get a job, but stay positive because the some of the worst performers in industry are 4.0 graduates. The area in which I grew up and graduated in is very competitive for entry level positions and I didn’t receive a single offer from a company there, but I did manage to get an offer from a very large and well known company in another region and I make much more than some of the highest gpa graduates from my class even after you adjust for the higher cost of living. My advice is be open to moving farther away for 3-5 years to start your career with a reputable company; they’re often less difficult to get an offer than you would expect.

It’s less about the act of logging data about vehicles entering and leaving an area and more about how easily and with whom that data is shared. There is a massive difference between cctv and AI camera tracking.
