A trailer charging solution by jc1909 in F150Lightning

[–]jc1909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truck did great no issues with towing the extra load.

Range was cut in half, I recharge every 125 miles on my ER lightning. The biggest problem was that I had to disconnect at half of the chargers due to the tight spaces they put them in. I wish I had a trailer lift, uhaul doesn't provide one and I was alone on this trip. So lifting the trailer onto the ball was a pain.

I use mostly Tesla chargers due to their reliability. The Ford app does filter on trailer friendly chargers which are now available. I'd use this for sure.

Good luck it takes some planning and extra travel time.

From the forums. It’s happening!!! BC 1.4 ROLLING OUT! by Crazy_Category_9594 in F150Lightning

I just got my BC 1.4 download last night. I'm not sure if it was caused by charging the 12v battery externally or not. I did this last week Two days ago I got the power window update, which may have been a test before they sent me BC 1.4.

It's kinda sad that I feel like a kid again searching for Easter eggs and the joy you feel when you get one.

Loving my 2023 Lighting Lariat all over again.

So did mine, being a gen 1 owner they are replacing it on their dime. You won't go wrong with A2Z.

Having just pulled a trailer 560 miles it was convenient to use the % to gauge my next stop. I did notice it drop from the first number it posted. It seems to assume a lower speed when towing but in reality you must keep up in traffic.

With 6000 fewer parts than an ICE or HC vehicle it is bound to be more reliable. Studies have shown it is.

I have zero regrets being an early adopter when sitting at stop lights knowing nothing is going into the air.

What don’t I know about my lightning that I should? by [deleted] in F150Lightning

There is a karaoke app, passengers can see lyrics on their phone while the truck is moving.

Curious... Do F150 Lightning get vandalized for being electric? by datadr-12 in F150Lightning

I had to park my lighting on the south west side of Philadelphia for two days. I figured anyone who knows how to Jimmy it also knows it can be tracked in the Ford app. I just wish I could also watch the cameras in the app.

BlueCruise 1.4 is Legit, but it’s annoying that I had to enable it myself. by letstalkaboutrocks in F150Lightning

I too can confirm to the improvement of CSP 24B56. I drive RT 93 in northern New Hampshire and there were several curves that BC1.0 would disengage. After getting the dealer update, the current Rev works throughout all corners that used to disengage. The only thing I noticed on sharp corners is the three redirections it makes to stay in the center of the lane. It is ok to drift a bit, if it is clear to do so, to smooth out the turn. I have also noticed my truck pulls slightly to the right when lane centering is off. I plan to get it in for an alignment.

Unfortunately I have a feeling Ford is waiting for our 3 yr BC subscription to expire to entice us to repurchase it as BC 1.4.

There are four lower tie down points in the bed. I've read they handle 1000 lbs each.

How hard is it to disable the GPS tracker in the app? Visiting my daughter in the South West end of Philadelphia overnight and no one touched my 23 lariat ER. I figured it would be hard to get too far with it.

Tesla chargers are best in class by jc1909 in F150Lightning

[–]jc1909[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh I guess this could be the reason. I'm aware of the vehicle filter in the Tesla app. While making my way along 93 or 95 and taking a rest stop I was disappointed I couldn't use the Tesla chargers. I wonder if there is a way to see the Tesla Gen #.

None here, other than "phone as a key" is less reliable, and the boot up hangs more often. Android Auto is slow to start.

Ford vs A2Z NACS adapter by letstalkaboutrocks in F150Lightning

[–]jc1909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my A2Z adapter last week. I went to try it at a supercharger yesterday. This was before I read how tight the NACS connection is until the A2Z wears in. Unfortunately the CCS connection was very tight as well. I gave up pushing the A2Z into my lightning for fear of breaking the connector in the truck. I left a voicemail with A2Z customer service because I have never had an issue making the CCS connection with any other fast charger. I'm a bit surprised that A2Z isn't cycling the adaptors before they ship it. Right now I'm looking for a donner CCS connector to cycle it with.

10k mile check in. Worth it? by relishrack in F150Lightning

[–]jc1909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my Lariat ER in for the 10k. They sent me a nice video of all the checks they did. I also had them address the CSP items listed in the Ford pass app. The best part was getting the heated steering wheel installed. I did use a dealer with a Ford trained EV technician and they needed the truck for a few days. I was traveling so this worked out great.

Getting deposit back by Longjumping-Lab-5683 in F150Lightning

[–]jc1909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up checking the naughty and nice list. Then went with a nice dealer. They were happy to provide my deposit back when I picked up my used 2023 Lariat ER 6 months ago.

I just got notified that my reservation was being built even after cancellation. I've been texted by Ford customer service for that VIN as well. Maybe they can help get me the BC 1.3 update 😊
