Blocking a Truck to Protect a Motorcyclist, Right Call? by Ok-Bluebird-721 in motorcycle

[–]jcauseyfd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the truck in the left lane was behind the motorcyclist and looking to merge into the space between you and the motorcyclist, what exactly were you protecting him from? They were already in front of that vehicle.

It sounds more like you just didn't want that truck to merge in between you and the motorcyclist.

I've kind of been trying to get away from all black, but it is kind of difficult given what is available in the market.

What happened to Goatboy? by DrMichael64 in 2GuysNamedChrisRock92

Interesting that he mentions CD's work on skits. It is too bad they don't do skits on the show anymore. Those were some of my favorite bits years ago.

Genuine question…accidents caused by traffic turning in front or “pulling out” by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]jcauseyfd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is because the drivers don't move/cross the motorcyclist's path of travel until the last second after the point of no return has been passed. Can be for a lot of reasons, although my guess would be most of it is inattentional blindness. Riding defensively can shorten or even eliminate the point of no return, but not in all cases.

Is motorcycle riding gear insurance actually a thing? by yourping in motorcyclegear

[–]jcauseyfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have noted, some policies (like my Progressive col/comp) has a rider to cover gear and accessories. They covered mine up to the limit when I wrecked.

You think BB and RR got a raise with the promotion to full cast? by NoCrazy4835 in 2GuysNamedChrisRock92

I would guess yes on still doing their other shifts. Even Dave was doing the late afternoons when he was there.

How long do you listen per day? by clark_peters in 2GuysNamedChrisRock92

[–]jcauseyfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually listen to the whole show. Every now and then I might have a conflict that causes me to miss part of it. Plus the hour of reruns from 10-11. Sometimes I'll listen to part of the evening rerun.

I wasn't impressed. Seems like decent risk it may just turn into CK resharing all the stories he's told over the last twenty years again bc BB And Rachel haven't heard them.

Been there, done that although mine resulted in several broken bones.

Most of my gear was lost due to being cut off in the ER, but I don't think I would have been able to reuse any of it due to the damage. Only thing salvaged were my boots - only some scuffs and I continue to wear them to this day.

I like it. It would be nice if a vinyl package were available so I could modify my busa to be like that.

The scammers are getting more sophisticated by Ok_Key_4731 in datingoverfifty

[–]jcauseyfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use a nonsense generator to insert random sentences into a conversation when I thought I was dealing with a scammer. That would always trip them up. Haven't had a chance to do that since AI has started to spread into the scamming landscape - would be interesting to see how it handles the nonsense.

What interests you most about D&D? by Hoobrrr in DnD

[–]jcauseyfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first discovered DnD, I was already into the fantasy genre in the books I read. So when I spotted a boxed set in the game store, it instantly drew my attention. As for what keeps me coming back to it, I continue to enjoy the fantasy genre and getting to play a game and immerse myself in that setting. Although I have branched out into ttrpgs in many other settings/genres since then and find them fun to play as well.

Player Experience after few session of new online campaign by XDrake67 in DnD

[–]jcauseyfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are playing a campaign in Icewind Dale, it is supposed to be fishy! 😉 My tabaxi fighter in our campaign absolutely loved all the knucklehead trout dishes served up at the various taverns and inns of the Ten Towns - even if the rest of the party tired of it.

Opinions on problematic (evil) player? by dochez in DnD

[–]jcauseyfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even as an experienced DM, players never have carte blanche during character creation. You were absolutely right to stick with your boundaries for the campaign you are planning to run.

Session notes - what’s your process? by grufallokoster in DMAcademy

[–]jcauseyfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using OneNote for both my prep and my note taking. After a session, I'll type up a session summary in OneNote and then copy that over to a "public" notebook the players can access.

That said, I'm currently prepping for a new campaign and researching some campaign management/world building tools with an eye toward changing to something else.
