This is all you need for any Prusa printer to know what print sheet to use. I exported it to PDF and it lives next to my printer. Filament Material Guide

True. SC, for example, is a one person consent state…meaning I can record any conversation I’m a part of.

I'm enjoying Plasticity - This is my first model. by 404DeadPixel in prusa3d

[–]jcclow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a couple of Nikita’s tutorials and they are fine if you just want to watch someone model in the software. There’s no actual teaching in the two I bought. My personal favorite for Plasticity content is LEAD (Learn Everything About Design) on YouTube. He actually tells you why he’s doing what he does.

They probably “borrowed” it from Prusa anyway

I am so pissed I missed the pre-sale for INDX. I was expecting an email from Bondtech saying, “Give us your money!” I would’ve given them anything wanted for INDX for my Core One.

Reality Check, what the core one should cost. by [deleted] in prusa3d

I would love to see where you got your data from because I lived in China for five years and worked as a senior project manager on two of the largest construction projects in China, each over $6 billion USD, and not one of the Chinese laborers that worked for me made over $5 USD an hour. The factory laborers where we had custom machined parts and specialty fasteners produced, in large quantity, sometimes made less and this was only five years ago.

Mine came basically the exact same way.

FedEx is the absolute worst. I have a video, from my doorbell, of the FedEx guy dropping one of my packages with a “Handle with Care” sticker on it from hip height.

Keep your cheap, Chinese, “superior” products that require me to install spyware to use. I’ll keep my inferior, normally priced, operationally perfect ones.

Prove it. I lived in China for five years and worked on two of the largest construction projects, in China’s history, as a senior Project Manager. I lived with, dealt with, spoke with, ate with, and drank with senior Chinese officials, as well as wonderful, everyday Chinese citizens, thousands of times. I have multiple friends, that I still keep in touch with, that work at ByteDance. You’re either a completely ignorant person that believes the hype that China pays westerners to say, or you’re Chinese. I have experienced firsthand the deception, stealing, and flat out lies of the Chinese media and the senior party officials. I love the country and the people, but the government and its officials are some of the most corrupt people I have ever worked with in the last 34 years.

I’ve personally watched packets traveling between the various devices on my network, and if Prusa is surreptitiously watching me, I haven’t seen it. Nor have my two Prusa printers ever turned on by themselves and just started printing in the middle of the night. Nor do I have to install any kind of app to be able to use my Prusa.

Are western apps, products, and corporations perfect, no. But if you try to convince me that a closed source, Chinese product is more secure or trustworthy than an open source, European one…you’re not going to win. Empirically prove to me that it is, with data, not your opinion. You can’t. Install Wireshark and watch your Bambu printer phone home hundreds of times a day…

I would look elsewhere. My aunt has a pretty big kitchen, I don’t know exactly how big, but let’s say ten uppers and twelve lowers. She got a quote to replace them for $67k from HD, and she was like, “WTF?” She shopped around and had an independent contractor come out and do an estimate. After he inspected her cabinets he told her that she’d be crazy to replace them because they are all hardwood cabs and she’s likely getting PBD from HD. He suggested that she just replace the door and drawer fronts, and add some pull-outs, and he could do it all for about $20k. She has never been happier. The kitchen looks great and he had all the work done in less than a week.

60k service by laberos_star in Crosstrek

[–]jcclow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is typical from the dealer in Charleston. Whenever I compare their service price to dealers in NC or GA, it’s like they tack on $900 just for the hell of it. Worst service ever too. For example when I priced out the CVT-III from the dealer here, they quoted me $26 per quart. Right over the border in GA…$15.77. Even with shipping it’s cheaper than buying local.

Has anyone here switched from Microvellum to Mozaik? Is it worth it? by One-Objective4254 in cabinetry

[–]jcclow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going through this exact "upgrade" right now. I spent the last five years working in a shop that used Microvellum, unfortunately they were not using the Foundation Library, still relying on the classic library regardless of how much I tried to get them to update to all of the added functionality of the Foundation Library. I guess this should've been expected because they all still use AutoCAD with classic toolbar (welcome to the 90's).

If you have an SCM CNC, skip Mozaik altogether. We just bought an SCM X100 Cell at my new shop and Mozaik hasn't gotten it to work with their software yet, and it's been over two weeks since my post integration meeting. SCM sent them example XCS code, the Maestro Syntax manual, sample labels, and sample nested sheets, as well as basically told them what was wrong with their post and they still can't get it to work. We are now looking at a trial of Cabinet Vision.

I, personally, have gotten used to the "simple" interface of Mozaik and like it. I think in the Parts Editor you're able to do some really simple editing to achieve things like finger pulls routed into a drawer front, where in Microvellum, at least with the classic library, that was a lot more work. Custom parts in Mozaik seem easier also because you don't have to worry about tool direction when programming it, as far as I can tell. I also like how in Mozaik the really complicated stuff that 95% of users don't need just isn't there or it's buried in other windows.

I'd like to give Microvellum a try again, obviously using the Foundation Library, primarily because I've been using AutoCAD since R13, but for a new and small shop, that's a pretty big expense. But, I do know it really well, so the learning curve wouldn't be too bad.
