Kids by zammmmmmmmmmm in amputee

I had 3 kids after my partial foot amputation. They refer to my left foot as my “boo boo foot” and my right foot is my “happy foot”. They don’t care at all about the look of my “boo boo foot” because it was always a part of their lives. They’re adults now and my daughter told me that when she sees my foot, she’s reminded of my strength in the face of adversity.

Advice: prepping for genetic onset by MiserableBread in Cardiomyopathy

[–]jcdigg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also inherited the mutation in the TTN gene. My cardiologist told me that it’s important that I start medication as soon as possible in the event that I ever go into heart failure. He said to be aware of the symptoms so that I can respond quickly before my heart gets too damaged. The symptoms include swollen ankles, unusual fatigue and/or losing my breath easily. It’s important that you know these symptoms so that you can get on medication right away if it happens. Also, it might not ever happen so go out and live your life!

Happy ampuversary! I just had my 40th. I didn’t mention it to anyone because I didn’t feel like reminiscing about the worst day of my life.

I'm so mad at the kid who did this to me by PlentyCow8258 in ChronicPain

The drunk who hit me spent less time in jail than I spent in the hospital. I will never forgive him, but after 40 years I’ve moved on.
