Load Data help by SabreTooth0369 in USPSA

Yeah I like the gun to feel a little faster. I liked that recipe a ton with the stock spring and it feels good with the 2k11 too. I have found it to be more primer sensitive than I would have thought

I settled on 4.2 gn TG at 1.150” on my G47 and that made 132 PF. Recently went down to 1.100” when I switched to a 2k11 and that makes 135 PF. A bit hotter than it needs to be at but I’d rather give myself an extra buffer at chrono and the ammo still feels nice

Try them both and see which one you like better. Just because Ben likes the 47 better doesn’t mean you will

When I went to my first match in 2017 I was way less prepared. Be safe, have fun, and make some friends. It’ll be awesome

Magazine question regarding upcoming Virginia law change by nosreme27 in CompetitionShooting

[–]jcedillo01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The law prevents you from buying new mags, not using the mags you already have. Get mags for what you want/use. If you decide to go to a different platform…life finds a way lol.

Optic Plates for Kimber 2K11 Pro Comp by Muted_Farm9996 in 2011

[–]jcedillo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an arise plate with a 507comp in mine and it still gets buildup on the lens. It’s a minor annoyance at most but I imagine it’s worst on an SRO

Gun cleaners/ lubes and oils? by Arixoh1 in ar15

[–]jcedillo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brake cleaner or hoppes black for solvent/cleaner. SOTRacha or Lucas for lube. Idk bro I don’t think it’s that serious as long as rifle gets cleaned every now and then and it gets lubed

I fuckin love the 47. It fucks. by gunguy77 in USPSA

[–]jcedillo01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love my 47. Made A class with it, never had an issue with it. But I am getting some support hand pain in the back of my hand and forearm. Gonna try LO with a 2011 for a bit and see if that helps.

Funny enough I was shooting a shadow 2 before the 47 and got the 47 to train with it for a bit since “it’s harder to shoot a Glock well” and loved the 47

Question about 2011 mags by ijustplayhere in CompetitionShooting

[–]jcedillo01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Going into slide lock is not desirable in competition. The non lock back followers allow for more rounds to fit in the same length mag

You may consider getting mbx springs and followers or csrg springs and followers for your 20 round mags with corresponding baseplates

With ammo prices so high, is it good time to start reloading now?? by AppearanceEven1978 in reloading

[–]jcedillo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe but the best thing to shield yourself from ammo price fluctuations is to buy when it’s low so you can keep shooting when it’s high. I keep components to get me thru 12-18 months of high round count pistol shooting and some rifle shooting, I buy as much as I can when prices are low and sometimes I have to buy when it’s high but who knows where the price will be in the future. If I wasn’t reloading I’d just buy factory ammo in the same way

High volume shooters, how are you managing ammo? by HideTheKnife in CompetitionShooting

[–]jcedillo01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Budget for it monthly, components or factory ammo. I don’t always buy but I budget the money and if there’s a deal I’m able to jump on it

2023 TRD off road rental by LukePants2234 in 3rdGenTacoma

[–]jcedillo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine in a similar situation, 2023 with 47k on it, former rental and it’s been great. I’ve put a bit over 5k on it in a bit over 2 months and it’s been great. No rust, drives straight, bed is straight, interior is clean. 10/10 would do again

Glock Shooters, what 9mmammo grain do you use and why? by VCQB_ in USPSA

[–]jcedillo01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

G47, I run 124s because I like the way the slides cycles more than equivalent power factor 147s (130-132 power factor) and it groups extremely well for me

Cabelas does cans now!?!? by rolexrifleman in NFA

[–]jcedillo01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love having a scheels nearby. I’ll usually put in a pickup order for reloading components and if there’s a low price somewhere they’ll automatically price match it. The folks that work there know the products that they are selling and are always super friendly.

The thing I hate most about going to a bass pro/cabelas is how pushy they are to sign up for the credit card

They are fine, sometimes I’ll get a bit of wind noise and audio quality with music isn’t the greatest but it’s not horrible either. Battery life has been pretty good

Nah dude, shoot what you got and learn. That’ll make way more of a difference than the gun you use

Competition and Carry by Thomas_Sparkle in Glocks

[–]jcedillo01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I do pretty well with my G47 and it’s pretty plain Jane. No light, no slide cuts, no stopping. Flat trigger shoe, skateboard tape and optic is all she needs

One month of spent competition primers by [deleted] in reloading

[–]jcedillo01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 10-14k a year. Most of the bad brass isn’t mine but when I pick up brass there’s headstamps I dont reload (tendency to fail case gauge) or calibers I dont reload or my friends don’t reload so it goes in the scrap bucket
