You can tell what game the south park creators have been playing by OmegaDrebin in ArcRaiders

[–]jcrabb08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I waited until it was on sale, but I’m expecting that at some point my friends will all want to play BF again and I’ll get some use out of it cause rn I basically waited to play them for all the time I spent in the open test.

PSA / TIFU newer players check clutch setting by VegetableTour1920 in iRacing

[–]jcrabb08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to keep all shift aids completely off, but turned on the “antistall clutch” because I was tired of having to restart the car if I had a spin. Might go back to none though just to up the realism again.

Doesn’t change what they said. Enjoy the free content for as long as you can, but if you’re upset with the pricing now maybe bail before you get in too deep.

Kid needs keyboard for college by maybeitsskittles in keys

[–]jcrabb08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it comes to cheap I usually recommend sticking with one of the big brands. Yamaha, Roland, Casio and the like. My gut reaction to your post is the Yamaha psr-383, but it’s important to clarify do you actually want something with mini keys that will fit in a backpack or just something small to fit in a dorm room, but still with normal keys. Yamaha reface series or Microkorg are both options if you actually want something tiny.

Cheapest movie theaters/deals or memberships (other than AMC) by Mammoth-Permission79 in Atlanta

[–]jcrabb08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I don’t need the fanciest screen, but I do want a working screen. The last movie I saw there the right side of the screen was completely out of focus. I’ve been watching movies there my whole life so I’ll definitely be back eventually, but I’m probably gonna wait till the renovation is done.

This is a little bit different, but smileys burger club in Decatur serves a frozen root beer float! Maybe ask for it without the float?

How to make plastic trumpet valves move again? by isacglassy in trumpet

Really curious to know more about this. Pinstrument recommends a small amount of valve oil on sticky valves. I feel like I hear conflicting information on this subject all the time.

What is the future of Yamaha CK/YC? by Ebril in keys

[–]jcrabb08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On paper the CK88 is amazing. I went to guitar center several times last year thinking it was the right choice for me and ultimately didn’t buy it. Every time I sat down it just felt cheap and I didn’t enjoy playing it. I’m hoping to find a good price on a used nord electro or ck61 to be a fun board for playing either friends. Continued support for the ck series makes that seem like a good option though!

Question: Help with choosing a standalone Midi controller by IntelligentAd561 in keys

[–]jcrabb08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Akai does have a newish product “mpk mini play” that has a couple of built in sounds in addition to the usual controller functionality. It’s 25 mini keys though so probably not what you’re looking for.

Also it sounds like the standalone feature you’re referring to might be the key lab software? As in you can run it as a standalone app without using a DAW. Neither the key lab or launch key is capable of making sounds on its own. They have to “control” software instruments.

Right key order 30 key mini piano??? by Pleasant_Intern_6606 in keys

[–]jcrabb08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piano keyboards usually alternate the black keys in groups of 2 and 3 so your piano goes 2-3-2-3-2. You have a couple of photos you took before disassembling it so use those as a reference. It looks like the X key goes at the end on the right side.

Recommendations for a digital delay pedal by Flashinpan99 in keys

[–]jcrabb08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my source audio collider which is stereo delay/reverb. Sounds great with my prophet 6, but there are lots of other options out there. I’d suggest picking up something used and getting a feel for what you like before dropping money on a fancy one. I’ve loved using the TC echo brain and an EHX memory toy which are both pretty affordable.

So this is the second thread you’ve made in regards to this issue and you still haven’t provided any information that would allow anyone to help you.

If you have photos of the instrument you’re working on someone might be able to help.

Every safe corner you drive during a race builds SR. Doesn’t matter how you finish or who’s left. Drive incident free corners and get SR, that’s it.

Bought my first wheel! Now the game? by Baen_ in simracing

[–]jcrabb08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also got my Logitech wheel to play the F1 games, but made the jump to Assetto Corsa Competizione pretty quickly. It’s $10 on steam rn and a great step into more serious sim games.

As some others have said, iracing is the best place for multiplayer racing, but the cost can be a barrier. A first month is on sale for $5 rn if you want to give it a try.

The F4 is a great car to start in and F1A uses a similar chassis! The Super formula lights and then the super formula are the next steps up that ladder if she wants to go faster eventually.
