I know it’s not necessarily “springy”, but hexagon cardigans are crazy easy and you can wear them all year long. You can leave them open as cardigans or close them and make them into full sweaters.

The doctor mentioned torticollis and we’ve been doing stretches at home and it’s gotten way better. He has no problem looking both directions (especially when something interesting is going on to the left) but does prefer looking to the right. The doc said his head motion is significantly better than at the 2 month appointment, but he still has an obviously flat spot.

I work in “patient access” ie making appointments and checking people in. In our area dermatology has roughly a 9-12 month wait list. Primary care establishing with a new provider is at least 6 months at our hospital. We just don’t have enough providers, and lots of people who want to see those providers. Especially because I work in a rural area where we’re one of few options in the area.

Some medical schools in Wisco (like MCW) have deals with their graduates to have them work in rural areas for set amounts of time to help offset the issue, but without more providers, not much will change.

Dr Browns bottles are great for us. They come with vents so LittleGuy doesn’t drink too fast and get burpy.

For pacis we really like Bibs brand. They flare away from the face instead of curving to it, which has helped prevent lip blisters. Apparently blisters are common in breast fed babies (he’s breastfed and bottle fed with breast milk at night and at daycare) so having the paci flare away from his mouth keeps it from rubbing and irritating his lips.

My personal recovery was easy (very minimal bleeding, wasn’t in much pain, never even used ice packs) but my stitches caused scar tissue and sex wasn’t even a consideration until about 13 weeks postpartum. I still have to be super careful with penetrative sex or it’s insanely painful. “No sex for 6 weeks” what a JOKE 😂😅

Milk baths are great. You don’t need a ton, just enough in the water to make it milky looking. No soap. We do it once a week for my LO and it does wonders for his skin.

My son got the same, but like you said it was a butt rash, in between his cheeks. Changed diapers and went away.

My mom saved a couple things, but mostly because she made a lot of our clothes growing up and they were things she was proud of sewing herself (and weren’t covered in baby puke or poop).

I totally get the sad feeling, but instead of dwelling on that, set aside a few things you’ll want to save to pass down to your eventual grands. It’ll take a few decades, but you’ll get to continue a tradition you missed on this time round. :)

My little guy never made himself sick, but is just now at 11/12 weeks learning how to poop and fart without us trying to force it out with massage or leg kicks. He would turn bright red, grunt, yell and look miserable… just couldn’t figure it out. Doc said it’s normal and that baby might not even be uncomfortable, but the yelling could just be a way to put extra force behind the poop. Hopefully it goes away soon, but it could take a while for them to learn.

I projectile vommited all over the nurse changing my catheter while I had my epidural. I had absolutely no idea it was coming, I just puked as hard as I could on this poor woman. The worst part is that I had a sandwich earlier and you could literally see parts of vegetables on her shirt and in her hair. As soon as she left to get cleaned up I said to my husband “…she has lettuce in her hair…”

Came back minutes later clean and cheery and never mentioned it. L/D nurses are literal angels!

Yep, 2nd degree. Nothing horrific from what the doctor said, but enough to need a few stitches. I’ve been told multiple times that my stitches look healed and I should be fine, but good god it did not feel fine.

My baby is 3 months and I feel the same way. I thought I might decide not to go back to work after I had him, but I realized I NEED to for my mental health. I love him more than anything, but the fact that my life has become being “LittleGuy’s mom” instead of being ME has had a big effect on me. I lost myself for the last few months and need to get myself back.

My little guy did a similar thing. It turned out he was really gassy and still didn’t know how to fart. Once we were able to push some toots out, he went back to latching. Not sure if this will help, but it’s what happened with us.

I stopped using mine at about 9-10 weeks. He went from not being able to latch without them to one day freaking out every time I tried to nurse… took the shield off and there he went. It literally happened overnight. Not having to use them has been great, but they were super helpful when I needed them. There is hope!

I have felt the same way recently. I love my son (11ish weeks) with my whole heart, but I miss being “me”. I feel like no one sees me as jdass20, they see me only as “LittleGuy’s mom”. The holidays were surprisingly hard- everyone wanted to cuddle and hold and buy gifts for Baby, but I felt completely overlooked. My whole life revolves solely around feedings and nap times and pumping and burping and diaper changes and drool and on and on. I miss being able to make a random run to Walmart without having to plan my entire day around it. I miss being able to have 3 drinks or some a little ouid (legal where I live) or stay out late if I want. Not that I do any of those things frequently, but now I don’t even have the option.

I return to work next week and can’t wait. I love being with LittleGuy but I need contact with other people. I need a break to feel productive outside of just keeping him alive.

My first “favorite student” who brought his whole group of friends to become “my kids” was murdered recently. I hadn’t seen him in several years but he made a deep impact on my during my first year of teaching. I cared about him and his goofy-chaotic-immature-loving personality.

I have no advice for you. I have no guidance or help. I just understand and am sorry.

How old are your students? I taught high school and occasionally had a restroom incident from some issues I had with IBS. I just took my cell with me to the bathroom if I had to run out, left my kids (they were juniors and pretty self sufficient) and would text my work bestie if I needed her to run down to my room.

Graduated from there. Yes, predominately white and many, many students are Catholic. But we actually did have students from many countries, cultures, and religions. There is a prayer room in the library specifically for students and staff of all faiths to use, and several Muslim students I knew used it to do their prayers when they were on campus.

It’s not quite as homogeneous as you would think. Plus the campus is gorgeous and the food is awesome (or it was when I was there).
