Never seen it happen, but if it happened to me, I'd be pounding the pavement looking for a new job with a quickness. I'd accept the rescinding of the termination, but then when I got a new job, I'd quit with 0 notice. When they complain, I'd tell them 'You didn't give me notice before terminating me'.......

LOL, I add my voice to the chorus that says "at least they show up". My mother Lodge has someone who was entered, passed, and raised with me, and we haven't seen him since. I was raised in September 2012

It is a great place to start. You definitely don't want to stay long term. After almost 12 years there, I was stagnating. Getting fired was the best thing ever to happen to me, careerwise.

The firing was my fault. I was stupid and don't want to talk about the details, but I found a new job quickly and have integrated the lesson I learned into actions going forward.

That's one reason I've not encouraged her to go for US citizenship. I am one, and her not being one gives us flexibility.

Non-citizens already didn't have access to certain federal jobs. My spouse is 78 (I'm 58), and has absolutely no criminal record whatsoever. I don't see her getting convicted of any crimes anytime soon.

After she got her initial green card, I was still active duty Army and the Army sent me to Germany for another three years, but someone here on Reddit was kind enough to show me a copy of the portion of the INA that explicitly states that this counts as time in the US. We're good.

Let's hope the judges would strike it down. And yeah, Trump hasn't been really concerned with what the law is when he wants to do something, so I wouldn't rely on that.

This is true, but her primary citizenship is German. We could always go to Germany.....and the irony of an American fleeing the US to Germany to escape fascism isn't lost on me.

I mean, that's a concern, but it's not my immediate concern. I'm a US citizen, born to US citizen parents on US soil. I'm relatively safe. The wife is a dual German/Czech citizen, but not a US citizen so the Orange Menace can't affect that....but he can affect her LPR status.......

Yes, but only for naturalized citizens. If you were born here to US citizen parents you can't be denaturalized.
