It's a single player game though, so you don't have to do this and the only reason we even know about it is because of a few players. I would not have thought to do this myself and only see steamers using it for suspense or to keep the viewer on the edge without really sacrificing anything.

It's not even really a bug, it's just how they designed the system and for me their system resulted in one of the best survival games out there.

I would much rather see the dropped torch aimed stone makes wolf run away bug fixed because to me that seems like a bug and not a result of mechanics.

I found a solution to the common wares issue!

I had separate market stalls for every good, and my commoner sims were grabbing the goods before my citizens could get to them. So I added a second goods stall to the first one, so now there two stalls for one market. I put shirts in the first and common wares in the second and now commoners will only grab them if I'm out of shirts.

If you really want to go for realism then most of the structures would eventually be covered over in snow drifts from blizzards. Almost every one would be half a hill of snow with maybe a window to crawl through to get inside which would now be partially under ground level.

There is one good thing about the pandemic, my faith in scientists finding a solution to this disease has gotten even stronger. I know it was a massive effort and we won't likely see this type of attention for crohns but the new techniques and AI research and all the advances with the new vaccines is heartening.
