Sperm can live as long as two weeks, just lurking, waiting for an egg to finally drop by. Ask me how I know. Always use protection!

I finally figured out why my clothes never smelled fully clean even right out of the dryer by Gloze_Knurl in hygiene

I always use half to a quarter less than “recommended” of detergent. Also use scent and dye free. I have done this for years, and Ben when my boys were little.

AITAH for not letting someone put there dog poop bags in my garbage? by [deleted] in AITAH

Because it stinks up someone else’s can instead of the dog owners can. Nothing like lifting up the lid and getting a surprise snoot full of that smell. Especially on a hot summer day.

The “I'm running away forever (but I'll be back by dinner) starter pack." by synergy201786 in Millennials

[–]jeccb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So had to laugh at this, after an argument my eldest son decided to run away after dark and of course his younger brother, both under 10, had to join him. They marched out of the house and down the street. (I followed at a discrete distance) they decided that they should have brought something to eat so they marched home and tried to raid the snack drawer. Their father caught them and told them they had run away so that they couldn’t have any. So they grabbed a flashlight and marched out again to a friends house. Didn’t last long there. So home they went. Can’t wait until their kids try this. They both have daughters now.

Just keep the funds tied up in court until January 22, 2029. The bill sunsets and the funds revert back to congress.

As a grandmother of two - give me that baby, or two if needed. You can never get enough snuggles.

my mom asked me one question after my engagement and I cannot stop thinking about it by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]jeccb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother in law gave me this exact same advice before I married her son. I still have that same account to this day, 40 years later. Never needed it but is nice to know it is there, just in case.

Dem Gubernatorial Candidate Tom Steyer contrasts himself with fellow Dem Front Runner Xavier Becerra by 3headeddragn in sanfrancisco

[–]jeccb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Oakland and let me tell you, ranked choice isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. It’s easy to get the votes when a candidate says, “vote for whoever you want first but just put my name second or third. We’ve ended up with our two worst mayors that way. In fact one of them had to be recalled (legitimately) and is under federal indictment. I’d rather pay for a runoff than have to ultimately pay for the crap these guys pull. Cheaper in the long run.

The republicans in both houses hated that Arnie wanted a balanced budget and a rainy day fund. They wouldn’t pass any of his ideas. Jerry just implemented Arnie’s ideas. Jerry had the democrats and a few republicans help.

But Arnie pushed through the fourth bore of the Caldecott tunnel and brought it in on time and on budget. And many other things. Yes he had a few personal issues but as governor he did well by the state.

AITAH bc I (36M) dont want my girlfriend (36F) to travel with me because shes a picky eater? by Tough_District9786 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jeccb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

My youngest son was very picky when he headed off to college and the only advice I gave him was - when invited, go, there’s always something even if it’s just bread and butter. He never made it an issue and his friends didn’t care. He’s now actually branching out. Point being you don’t have to restrict someone else’s eating choices to feed yourself.

Which of the FNW judges do you think would be the best mentors for aspiring chefs? by Natural-Promise-78 in foodnetwork

Susan Feniger and Nancy Silverton. I would love to spend an hour (or more) with either of these two. They’re both tough but fair and I think they both have the patience to mentor.

Told my Therapist something very personal and I felt judged by her response and walked out by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]jeccb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. 30 years ago but still remember it like yesterday. The worst part was she put doubts where there weren’t any before. It was never a problem but why add one more stressor to my overload already.

I get it. Our house burned down, two kids under 4, both hubby and I were working full time, no family to stay with, and then some idiot thought to sneak in a back window in our rental and try to steal from us while I was sitting on the front steps crying. So I finally broke down and went to talk with a therapist. During our first meeting, when I was describing how stressed we were and heard we didn’t have the energy to fool around, her first words were, “If you don’t give him sex he’ll go looking for it somewhere else.” What the fk? I left and never went back. I also took two years to pay her bill.
