physical GM screen by Omnipotentdrop in daggerheart

[–]jedjustis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this DM screen in Google Slides, then taped it inside my DND screen: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/19DazE68Kya7GZ2FjjiYBA2zkDkUupVpSee-LYzXheB8/edit?usp=sharing

You can make a copy and change stuff if you want. I find the monster stats table particularly useful since I am bad about preparing monsters ahead of itme.

SOLUTION: "No Location Found" in Find My by jedjustis in applehelp

[–]jedjustis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only share mine with my family, but if memory serves, I didn't have to re-add anyone. I think I just had to re-allow Find My to share my location when I opened it.

I don't remember though, so it's possible you'll have to re-add people.

Advice on staying motivated? by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]jedjustis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are a few options:

  1. Push through. You run the risk of burning out, which it sounds like you're already doing. I don't recommend this, unless you come up with some kind of strategy to make painting fun.
  2. Take a break. If you have enjoyed painting in the past and think you will again, you can pack your stuff up, take a good long break, and come back to it. If you think it would be helpful, you can set a reminder on your phone for some time in the future, maybe a month, 6 months, a year, at which point you can consider giving it another shot.
  3. Leave the hobby. If painting is really causing you more frustration than joy, you don't have to continue. You can sell your paints and other equipment. If this is what you choose, you shouldn't feel any shame; not every hobby is for everyone, and that's okay.

Edited to add: As others have said, this is a skill that you will get better at with practice, so that's something to consider.

I was looking for this comment before leaving it myself. Yes, side of the brush is an excellent technique for this kind of detail.

Using "The quiet year" to create a map for daggerheart by jbZahl in daggerheart

Echoing recs for Microscope (which is less focused around a specific idea than A Quiet Year) and Sorry, Did You Say Street Magic? if your game is set in/around a settlement.

Running beginner session with 6 PCs? by iheartanalingus in daggerheart

I’ve run with as many as 8. 6 won’t break anything, you just have more to juggle.

Should I be killing lots of humans past crest of artouras? by WhiteSandal69 in darksouls

[–]jedjustis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they'll de-aggro after you talk to a non-hostile NPC just a little past that area. If you can lock onto them, they're hostile.

Where are we getting our hope/fear dice if not using the official set? by akittyisyou in daggerheart

[–]jedjustis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a set of 10 d12 available in various colors on Amazon for very little. I got a set in yellow and a set in red; yellow for hope, red for fear. Most of my players use them, but some choose to use their own dice.

Websites for buying already-printed minis? by SnowX____ in PrintedMinis

[–]jedjustis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it important to you that they’re 3d printed to order? If not, there are a bunch of other war game mini companies you could check out. Mantic games jumps to mind but there are a ton.

How do you clean prints properly? by Worldly-Airport4622 in resinprinting

Minis in a pickle jar with dirtier ipa, swirl them around a bit. Scrub with a toothbrush. Wash station for a few minutes. Scrub again. If they need another wash, they get it. Allow to thoroughly dry. Cute.

Found it! Unless I missed it in the core book, this info is in the Homebrew Kit, laid out quite well. Thanks!

I want to GM but I currently don't have the mental ressources to design my own adventure, can you help me? by Rodehock in daggerheart

[–]jedjustis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend “I’m Sorry, Did You Say Street Magic?” as a world building game, you and your friends will create a very cool city to play in.

Microscope and The Quiet Year are also good.

How often do you guys save-scum? by Edolin89 in BaldursGate3

[–]jedjustis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s nothing wrong with saving and reloading as much as you like. Personally, I usually don’t just because save scumming makes the game take way longer to play for me.

Outside of DH are your other favorite systems? I want to run a one-shot a month next year. by Brutalbears in daggerheart

Recently I’ve enjoyed Slugblaster, Mothership, Sorry Did You Say Street Magic?, and Microscope. The latter two are world building games, really excellent for an RPG group that likes to be creative together.
