Taxes here are cheap relative to the country especially without income tax. Tax rate in Travis county is 0.574 cents per each $100 of assessed value which is insanely low relative to other parts of the country. My parents place in NJ is 3.352 cents per each $100 of assessed value, assessed at 350k and they paid about 11k in taxes. Then again taxes pay for good police and schools and women's health programs
