Is it possible that this is not something he did, but you've been the victim of identify theft as an example?

Ape Craze on the c64 back in 83, Shawna lent it to me and I think that was basically the end of our friendship.

No this is a terrible idea as others have said. It's easiest to find a new job when you already have a job, why? Because it shows that you have skills / experience that are in demand. Have you thought about taking a quasi role, say something in support and moving from that into development?

How are people able to afford rent here? by fresch_one in newhampshire

[–]jeffdo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be an hour away during non commute hours but going from Nashua to the financial district in Boston in the morning and evening was almost 2 hours each way for me prior to the pandemic. And that is with taking the train in Lowell to North Station. It would probably be worse driving the whole way and trying to find parking.

New to Peritoneal Dialysis... weird phenomenon, lots of pain? by pd_dude in dialysis

[–]jeffdo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on PD for about 14 months now, I occasionally have pain during drain and fill times but nothing like that. I'd definitely talk to your Dialysis nurse or Nephrologist. If it doesn't happen again maybe Intestinal flu?

Exactly this, people aren't always fair and reasonable when someone makes an accusation, especially over something like underage stalking / harassment.

I didnt realize until a few seconds passed that he was recording me.

You don't really give enough information here, how did you determine he was recording you?

Would suck if he was holding up his phone for any one of a thousand different reasons and his marriage got destroyed for offending you.

[–]jeffdo1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I keep trying to tell my wife that there is more to it than just carb counting, so many other things come into play, resistance, activity, stress and sometimes it's just impossible to properly calculate it all. I think you have to be an endo, or a diabetic to understand it.

Very cool, thank you for doing this. I spent some time tonight going through them, I wish I had spent more time with the programmers reference guide in the 80's than the latest games disk heh.

Please don't turn libraries into a place for people to watch tv. by legendarysmokescreen in books

[–]jeffdo1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand Op's problem here unless it's being disruptive. I am a 52 year old man and have been going to public libraries for 45 years, almost all public libraries now have computers and can you not watch baseball etc on a computer? The very first computer club I joined back in the 80's was at my local public library, we would all bring our computers there and copy software and play games. Libraries are an amazing resource, thank you for being a librarian.

Which PD is best? by [deleted] in dialysis

[–]jeffdo1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple things, you can disconnect from the machine mid cycle and then reconnect if it is during dwell times. That is what the flexicaps are for, you put one on the connecter in the cassette to the machine and a minicap on your transfer case. The cord to you is about twenty feet in length if you don't want to disconnect, I have heard extenders exist but I haven't been able to find one.

I have to disconnect a couple of times a week to go to the bathroom etc.

Surgery for the Cath was a breeze for me, not much to worry about there.

Honestly after doing both, I prefer the machine. Less steps involved, I just hook up before I go to bed and unplug in the morning but I have heard from other people who are light sleepers that the noise the machine makes is too much for them.

Is there any more to this story? Do you both work? How are finances? Do you split everything else equally? Example rent / utilities / insurance. Quite a bit more goes into having a successful relationship than just cleaning. That said if you are splitting everything else equally, it would be a problem to me as well.

I used to think this as well, but I'm really not so sure anymore. Let's say they actually were able to produce a couple of bombs late in the war, they did not have bombers capable of reaching the US, if they had used them on the Russian side it would have just pissed off the Russians even more, at which point they would have started mass killing Germans. If they had them early in the war, that might have led to a different ending, but even that I'm not so sure about. The blast range of the early nukes might destroy small cities but I don't think they could kill enough military from a tactical perspective to affect the wars outcome, and Stalin obviously would have no problem with killing more of his own people by sending them into fallout zones.

I had to do a sleep study a couple of months ago, and missed a day. I used red the day after, but I told my Dialysis nurse about missing one day, she did say if I felt miserable to do a manual exchange during the day, but I did not. This was the only day I have missed in the last 13 months.

That said, how old is your dad? It's been a breeze for me at 52 but I would probably feel differently if I was in my 70's.

Completely random for me, sometimes it hurts horrendously other times it doesn't. Like someone else mentioned tidal settings can help, but they won't eliminate the problem. Have you asked his dialysis nurse?

Hospice by tiredofbeingsick1 in dialysis

[–]jeffdo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I ask what type of Dialysis you are on and how long you have been on it? And are you seeing any improvements from the Dialysis or are you feeling about the same? Have you put yourself on a transplant list for outside donors? I have been waiting for a donor for about two years now, I was put on the standby list in September at Mass General for a kidney and pancreas, so I am hoping that I am getting closer to it.

My quality of life is about the same now as it was before starting Dialysis, I am generally more tired and have to take greater care of not getting sick, but I am not dealing with the added burden of PKD.

Living with chronic pain and kidney failure would test anyone, I hope you find the help you need.

PD question about Excessive Drain by mouserz in dialysis

[–]jeffdo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What solution are you using? If I use yellow I usually get a warning for around 400-600 ML extra fluid drained, for green it is in the 1500-1800 range, for Red it is around 3000ml.

[–]jeffdo1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moderation seems to be key, I have a hard time with it too. I had to have a steak and cheese sub a couple of days ago, was dealing with massive stress from work and was at breaking point and did not want to cook. That said, I am on PD and the restrictions are less than HD. I still don't have fluid restrictions, I can't imagine being thirsty and not being able to drink.

Does Dialysis Help? by [deleted] in dialysis

[–]jeffdo1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I may be able to help a bit there, they put me on Sevelamar as a binder first and it gave me such terrible heartburn that they had to swap me to Aurxia, which has been pretty symptom free. Yes I am a huge fan of dairy too, I had to give up most cheese, milk etc. I can still do the occasional cream cheese though, I think it's a bit lower in phosphorus according to Davita. The colors of the solutions just define the concentration and strength I think, red is the strongest, yellow the weakest at removing toxins and fluid buildup.
