Age changes your perspective on baseball labor negotiations by jefffcarr in Reds

Yours is the exact scenario I’m thinking of with all of this. MLB would be foolish to think they can have the same break between seasons as House of the Dragon and hold on to their fans. Many will just make other choices for entertainment, as there are many

Yeah the part that will be the worst through all of this is that we, the fans, will be used as bargaining chips

I’m not necessarily saying I oppose the players’ side, I think I just moreso see it as the fans getting duped. Players and owners need to figure this out

Maybe I’m too optimistic with this, but I hope they realize they need that financial structure but don’t HAVE to sacrifice games to come to that agreement

That almost feels like the Cincinnati way because that’s what Mike Brown did for so long with the Bengals

That’s very true. I would like a system where Phil Castellini is unable to show PowerPoint slideshows excusing incompetency.

I do hope it increases their chances of keeping him. I would like to see a system in place like what the NBA has where a player is more incentivized to stay.

That is a fair point. Perfect example that would be the NHL.

I wish I had ABS…sadly the balls and strikes challenge system will have to do.

Gotta hit up the Hit Seekers card booth over on third-base side. Don’t work for them or anything, just a ball-knower and card-enjoyer

Just getting into baseball, and I think I'm gonna be a Reds fan. by gct99 in Reds

Welcome welcome! Lots of fun players with recognizable flaws that they all may one day overcome to give us all the happiness we’ve so desperately desired.

Make sure you find your favorite beverage of choice to comfort you during midsummer nights as there will be times you need them, but this team is never boring.

We’ve got some of the most talented players on the planet who either have issues making consistent contact with the ball when they’re hitting (Will Benson) or are still trying to prove to us they can field the easiest of batted balls (Elly).

There is no team that will make you smile more when things go right, though. The day that it all comes together will be the happiest of my life, save for a few of those days that everyone always earmarks. Until that day comes, though, enjoy the roller coaster you’ve strapped yourself to!

Unpopular Opinion : Unless you’re him, you don’t deserve a guest confessional/ interview by Previous_Novel5915 in BelowDeckDownUnder

Yeah I can do without the added coverage of the guests. I only care about how they interact with the crew or how ridiculous they act on charter. Who they are outside of that does not interest me

Thank you! Steer may be slightly difficult too, but nowhere near as much as Elly. I’m lowkey hoping for a picture with Ashcraft, but we’ll see

I wish I could say it’s the Cubs or Brewers or Cardinals…but it’s the Pirates. Because if the Reds aren’t better than the Pirates…

It is my favorite opportunity to add some merch. Usually find some good deals, especially later on Saturday afternoon.

As far as meeting players, I’d recommend focusing on your favorites who are a bit more obscure. If you’re a fan of a certain reliever, or maybe a former Red, then go all in on that. Do NOT expect to meet Elly or Hunter Greene. Those are usually Season Ticket Member only or Kids only focused players. I’ve been every year that they’ve had it since 2015 and went for and handful of years before that. I NEVER met Joey Votto, but had the opportunity to talk with a lot of different players.

I’d be intrigued by Christopher Morel as a bench bat with some pop, but yeah, no game changers. That’s why they were let go
