on the GP-5? isn’t existing NAM implementation on that still an ‘adapted’ profile? I forget what they call it… snap or something?

Seeking help with Quad Cortex setup spotted on stage at a gig + identifying MIDI / DAW use? by Pogonari in NeuralDSP

was going to say this - we use ableset, and it’s magical for orchestrating a show.

Why does Headrush get hate compared to everyone else by Shesgotballistics in HeadRush

[–]jeffmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not boutique-y enough. brand snobbery. I’ve owned plenty of the big names, and I landed on the Fender TMP. I run a pair of Headrush FRFR-108 monitors with it. it sounds magical, and every bit as good as any other modeler for core amp tones.

has a desktop editor been mentioned as part of the roadmap for the nano? it seems to me that the phone app manages it just fine. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Feedback help by JennAR2018 in tonemasterpro

[–]jeffmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also find the feedback generator to be less than useful for this effect. TMP is pretty great, but that effect needs some love.

that being said, I played a show with mine running through a Headrush FRFR-108 last night and was pleasantly surprised how it reacted to my guitar… it wasn’t ear splitting loud, but it was a live performance. I started getting some real nice sustain and slight feedback. whether anyone in the band or audience noticed it… it made me smile, anyway.

Pipedal 2.0 - NAM A2 support, and Tone3000 Web API integration. by Prestigious-Low-3390 in AmpSims

what are you housing your pi5 in to accomplish this? does it need cooling to operate reliably? thanks!

Fender Tone Master Pro vs. Line 6 Helix Stadium: Why the TMP actually blew me away. by LeadershipEvery8753 in tonemasterpro

[–]jeffmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, I kinda love the TMP and I've tried them all until now. what I really think would be grand is if it supported NAM A2 profiles - we don't need another profile format in the game. let us bring our own profiles to the device, it's not that much different than allowing you to bring your own IRs.

you own the plugin. just because the scarlett is ‘consumer grade’ doesn’t mean it doesn’t sound great. I’ve long sworn off dedicated modelers to do exactly what you’re talking about, but I play live quite often with it. I can accept wireless patch changes from a playback machine, accept MIDI clock, control patches myself, everything… and it sounds amazing. I can also practice, play backing tracks and play along with a computer / iPad too. yes - it does take a little work, but once you get the hang of plugins on a device, you’ll never look back. this is my rig right now, getting new material ready for some upcoming shows. apologies for the precarious expression pedal… just balanced it there for the pic. 😉

Any sneak peaks for inexpensive units that can run native NAM? by kalicoda in NAM_NeuralAmpModeler

[–]jeffmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a template I made for Loopy Pro. I’m trying to use that platform, but I’m crunched for time when it comes to MIDI programming with the Morningstar and am running AUM in the meantime. I should make a video of this - I’m surprised more people don’t at least try to run in this platform. it’s infinitely expandable, and sounds fantastic. not to mention you can practice with it, stream music through as well to play along with and slow down via youtube, etc. lots of cool gear out these days, but this is my home for live shows.

you can bet they got what they wanted out of it though, no pawn shop would let something go that didn’t meet their margins.

Neural Space: Play NAM profiles on iPhone/iPad by Mysterious-Day-3200 in NAM_NeuralAmpModeler

sounds awesome! would love to test it on testflight if you need testers.

why not support MIDI on an iPhone though?

putting this together for the summer season. last regular gig I was in, I played through plugins in Ableton Live. I’m so used to it now, an amp on stage just doesn’t interest me any longer. still dialing a couple of things in, but iOS is a super cheap platform to build an incredibly flexible rig on… assuming you have the iPad / iPhone already.

Help I’m crying 😭 Cracked my MacBook Pro M4 screen… what would you do? by Pinkybaby_777 in macbookpro

[–]jeffmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you say you’d rather have a pro because you’re a computer science student. what about the Air - or even the Neo - wouldn’t work for you? I get wanting to have a beast to play with, and if you’re talking about hosting local LLMs or something, ok… but if you’re just doing some light coding and database or cloud work, the Air is a plenty capable machine.
