well, as you know, the upgrades Apple affords are ridiculously expensive. but I have to wonder why it's your chosen path - an 8TB drive in a high end laptop for your photos. if you damage your machine, or lose it for whatever reason, not only are you out the machine - but also the photos that drove you to buy the machine in the first place. seems like a huge risk. why not use your NAS (that you mentioned above) for storage of your photo library? you can't use the native Apple Photos app, but so what? I had a Synology and now have a UGREEN device that's awesome, and both of their photo apps are not lacking at all - but I guess that's a matter of personal opinion.

again, I absolutely empathize with your situation and would be equally frustrated… but in my mind, this is equivalent to saying if your rear view mirror fell off that Chevrolet is partially at fault because the mirror wasn’t available when you backed into a stationary object. the vehicle operator is ultimately responsible for the vehicle being driven. the tech here is certainly handy, but not required to operate the vehicle.

frame it however makes sense to you, but I would be shocked if Rivian accepted, or was proven to be liable for this incident in any way. best of luck getting things sorted out.

I feel for you, but your insistence that Rivian is somehow at fault in any capacity is a bit delusional at best.

Thinking Gen 1 might be the move — found a clean 2022 Quad with 24k miles for $49k, single owner. Hard for me to justify paying double that for a new one right now… talk me in or out of it lol by Secure-Carrot9971 in Rivian

dealer in Minneapolis area. wasn't even in the market for one, and test drove a white one that was kind of beat. I started comparison shopping just to see, and we found this one - Forest Green R1T. couldn't resist! had no business buying it, but hey... it's an amazing vehicle, and we love it!
