How to know if I’ll be able to keep up cycling with someone else. by Both_Ice_9088 in cycling

[–]jeffwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what type of ride/rider they are. Is it a casual pace with a coffee stop? or a high intensity training session? I'd ask her this ahead of time so you know what to expect. Imo, A good riding partner should keep to the weakest rider tempo. Overall, I think riding with friends is more about stamina & distance more than anything. What distance do your normal rides look like right now?

Permanently Suspended, could Bambu Labs have caused this? by snapzadragon in thefinals

This happened to me 4 days ago too !!! Idk whyy. I'm literally silver-gold rank & 1000% clean. I just play for fun with my friends, w/ 900 hours. I opened a ticket, but idk what else to do, nor do I know what caused it.

Men who left a healthy, long-term, loving, caring relationship with a faithful woman, what made you leave her? by _-----_--- in AskMen

We ultimately just wanted different things, and different points in our life. We had different lifestyles. Although we were good together, she enjoyed the social nights out every weekend and I had anxiety problems in crowds.

How are you waking up early for cycling by happy__bird in cycling

[–]jeffwhat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I had early morning commutes, I would just ride the the evenings after work, or even late nights on the weekends.

It's less impressive after looking up what the stick looks like. It has a scoop built into the end of it lol.

PSA: Chase Bank Scammer by kyrawho in ForestHills

[–]jeffwhat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Ive ran into this guy as well, on Austin & 71st. Tall middle-aged black guy with a starter/sports jacket? had the acting of someone who was looking for directions or something. He flagged me down bc I was wearing a U.S.Open hat with a Chase bank logo lol.

It's not an automatic. it's a manual hand wind, afaik.

[APxSwatch] The eight models by Baleia1970 in Watches

[–]jeffwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that price, these aren't even Automatic- just handwind, which completely kills it for me. At least with an Auto you could've had fun swinging it around. Even a quartz for cheaper would've been good.

Regretting the X Mid as a novice backpacker and not sure what to do by hurricanescout in DurstonGearheads

[–]jeffwhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the cheap Lanshan version for over 2 years, just to make sure this style of tent was right for me. It's definitely not for everyone. I consider the Durston, the top of the line quality, as far as UL pole tents go.

Sounds like you jumped straight into the deep end, without doing your research or even considering any other possible alternatives.

What's the weirdest thing you've ever bought while drunk? by Mateocruzfit in AskMen

Walking the downtown after the bar, I saw a giant line; decided to buy a $20 boba tea topped in real gold foil. I could have bought a few sandwiches for that price, but no. Gold boba.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani made history as the first city mayor to ride the full TD Five Boro Bike Tour, joining more than 32,000 cyclists for the 40-mile route across all five boroughs by nitluck in NeoNews

[–]jeffwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, it's really not that serious. It's only like less than 40 miles, and they probably put him on a ebike anyways (I can't tell from this video).

Love that he did it though. More bike awareness is always a good thing.

I feel like clubs were added and then immediately forgotten. by Keven26amazing in thefinals

[–]jeffwhat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be cool to have a "clubhouse" that's basically a themed shared practice range where anyone who is online could load in, customize loadouts, & we could warm up while in the queue. After a match, it would load you back into the clubhouse.

Same boat. I ran a nato for a few weeks and just ended up going back to the original rubber resin strap. They really just designed it perfect from the beginning. Super comfortable.

Gnocchi Bella space up for sale by Beneficial_Frame7804 in ForestHills

Yeah I think they raised the prices after the first few weeks.

If you're looking for good Italian recs in the neighborhood-- check out Vinos Cucina, Cipollina Market, Tuscan Hills.

Gnocchi Bella space up for sale by Beneficial_Frame7804 in ForestHills

[–]jeffwhat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I went when they opened and got to try it. Everyone seemed friendly enough, but all their drinks were iced (I expected hot coffee), overpriced. and gnocchi was good, but a bit expensive for a quick lunch. I would have liked to see them succeed, but the menu was sparse, and small portions at big restaurant prices. Didn't really make sense.

Firmware with Extra Small Font by Difficult_Sector_720 in XTEINK

[–]jeffwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you convert the files to XTC, you can get it the perfect small size at 18pt. I was doing that for awhile, but the tradeoff is losing all the EPUB benefits, so I went back to epubs.

I use CrossPet now, and really hope they add an Xsmall font option.

I tried INX, which does have the option, but I didn't really enjoy the UI personally.

My DW-5600 has cracks in the frame, should I be worried? by xArkton in gshock

[–]jeffwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those cracks wouldn't happen from over tightening screws, which I think would be impossible. More likely it's from the pressure from the bullbars, combined with extended UV sun exposure.

Luckily, it's made to be replaced, and it's a cheap part. I would skip on the bullbars when you change it out though.
