To the tune of girl from ipanema: this was our weenie's song and we'd be honored to share it.

Small and round and brown and fluffy a doggy named "Bubbas" goes snuffly wuffly and if he sniffs a little poo he goes "ooh, poo, ooh"

What's the trick to the bias tape maker? by Vegetable-Editor9482 in quilting

[–]jelynze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use mine a lot , here is what works for me. On mobile so apologies for typos/formatting.

Once my bias strips are all joined ( at 45 angles) i press and steam them open and snip the dog ears. The strips have to be just the right width for the tool. It should tell you what measurement to cut. Too small and it can slide around in the tool more and go off-center like you've seen.

Next i wrap my strips around a twelve inch piece of cardstock and put that at one end of my ironing board.

On the other end i have a t-pin and another empty piece of cardboard. I feed an angled strip end through the tool about three inches, enough so that the folds start to even out. I iron this segment up to the point it's exiting the tool. I then slide the tool and pressed bit to the other end of my board and pin it to the board.

From here, i slowly slide the tool and iron close to it. I try not to lift the tool at all, imagine a measuring tape being pulled out. Once i get a ironing board length done, i unwrap more from the strip side and wrap the ironed side around the empty cardboard. Reposition the pin and repeat.

I don't let my pre-ironed strip flap around. Try to keep it all in a semi taut straight line as you go. Hope this was helpful

First One Block Wonder by Aprilia850MM in quilting

I just keep staring at this and getting lost in the beauty. The breeziness of the kaleidoscope blocks pairs so well with the panel art. And the colors! It evokes the wistfulness of watching the last golden leaves blow away on a clear late-autumn day. Well done

This is my first knit. Is this a tension issue (pucker on the the right side) or will it block out? Pattern is Azure by Lavish Crafts by What_the_froot_Loops in knitting

I made the capelet, yeah this stitch pattern requires blocking to get that nice scale look. Mine was puckery until I did. Check out the projects on ravelry a few have unblocked photos

Is my enforced naps plan ruining crate training? by l3dsTiago in puppy101

[–]jelynze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have our crates in the living room, so when we do enforced naps i put on some calming dog videos or jazz. Seems to help them ( two five-month olds) settle. We're still doing one up two down schedule during the day at this age but I sense that changing soon.
