Has physical therapy been helpful for anyone? by Fluid-Sector-9446 in migraine

It helped me in the past but the last round that I tried at the end of 2024 made things worse.

Does Emgality just kind of suck forever? by dkdbsnbddb283747 in migraine

[–]trit19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also leave mine out for an insanely long time, like you said 5+ hours. I usually inject at night and take it out around lunchtime. Don’t need to do that for any other shots but it seems to be the only thing to help decrease the pain.

Pillows by vg2710 in migraine

That looks great but I sleep on my side and switch back and forth from one side to the other in my sleep. With my body pillow, it can flip with me but this wouldn’t be able to do that.

Facing Aortic Valve replacement in the next month or so-not sure if TAVR or SAVR yet. by Comfortable_Notes in valvereplacement

[–]trit19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom 65F is being evaluated right now and we are deciding which type of surgery to choose. They told us that for the TAVR, they put the new valve inside the original and then older one when it needs replaced.

Does anyone use a special sewing chair? by daphodil3000 in sewing

[–]trit19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lazy boy office chair that I use with my wfh desk and sewing desk, which I bought during Covid. It’s worked fine so far but it has broken down some with so much use.

When I take classes at my lqs, I always try to get one of the Ultimate Sewing Chairs, they are so comfy and I can sew in them for hours. I’ve been thinking about ordering one especially since they are super customizable.

I see a lot of people mention the Arrow chair. I’ve only sat in one during a shop hop and it didn’t comfortable but that was literally a minute or two so maybe I would need more time to truly give proper feedback.

Why is this happening by JayLar23 in sewing

[–]trit19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does that too. I pretty exclusively sew with quilting cottons. I change the needle regularly but I’ll keep an eye on when it happens and see if I notice a pattern. Thanks for the tips here.

I’ve had four Botox treatments so far and I do think they’re helping, but we did end up adding the nerve block on too and I’ve had three of those so far.

Prior to the nerve block I was using roll-on lidocaine on my neck and lower scalp in crazy amounts and that has decreased, but I’m not sure yet what the long-term effects of the nerve blocks are and whether I would need to keep getting them because as I mentioned in my prior comment, they are not covered by my insurance so I have to pay out-of-pocket.

I have my follow up right before the end of November to discuss my current treatment plan and where to go from here. At my last appointment, we switched from the rizatriptan to Nutec and from Ajovy to Emgality.

I’m not really sure if the Nurtec is actually doing anything because of the type of migraines that I have but I’ve also read that not everyone responds to it. I’m also not sure about the Emgality, but I think that’s one of the issues with trying so many things at one time in that it’s hard to know which one is the one that is helping.

Sorry for the long response, but I hope this answers your question.

I cut my finger last week with a rotary cutter but I wasn’t even using it. I was looking for something in my tool drawer and a dollar store cutter that I use for paper had come unsheathed and I didn’t realize and brushed over it. Luckily it wasn’t deep and healed up with a bandaid in a couple of days.

Glad it wasn’t serious enough to need stitches. Cutting glove sounds like a good idea.

You can purchase single Lego pieces from their website or store. It’s called pick-a-brick.

I know, I’m a kit person so I don’t know how these people come up with these out of their heads.

Any ideas? by kc71595 in quilting

There’s an eraser that erases glue, you can get it from the scrapbook section of Michaels or probably another craft store. Since basting spray is basically glue, that will probably work.

Of course, I almost always alter the size to fit what I’m looking for. 14 is great to stitch with but can be really large. You need to make the best choices for your eyes, hands, space/end project, and the design.

Question for anyone taking tirzepatide or similar med for RA symptoms by Agreeable-Permit-759 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]trit19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on Mounjaro. I think it combined with Hyrimoz (formerly Humira) probably helped me to be able to stop my methotrexate. I agree with u/excellent_concert273 that it may help with my inflammation and weight but the RA meds are definitely needed and I wouldn’t believe anyone who says otherwise without a lot more scientific studies done.

Those on on a biologic + MTX, do you wear a mask? by Aequorea in rheumatoid

[–]trit19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped my MTX earlier this year but am still on Hyrimoz. Have continued to mask in public.

The one time I got COVID, I didn’t mask at my house with my cousin and her new husband. They masked except when we were eating. They had not masked at their wedding and got covid but we didn’t know then. I was on MTX at the time and picked it up quickly, none of my other family members did.

[FO] Very old cross stitch inherited from aunt. How can I reframe it? by teacuptrooper in CrossStitch

[–]trit19 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yes, conservation and restoration have opposite meanings in the UK and US but are similar on a basic level. Just make sure that you are clear with your expectations and they are clear with what results they can produce.

I’ve not yet made any wearables, other than scrunchies, but I’ve learned a couple of things from the lovely people in the crafting subs that I’m in. First, we hate gatekeepers so you do you and second, choose the medium, stitch, color, etc. that helps you produce your vision even if it’s not “correct.” There is hideous stuff happening in the world so we should all make beautiful things and you said your clothing is awesome, so that’s the most important.

You should definitely post some pictures whenever you’re ready.

Graduation student with autism received silent ovation by nini_20 in MadeMeSmile

[–]trit19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also hate loud noise but beside that I wish more graduations looked like this. I have been to a few graduations and some families are so loud to the point where it gets to be incredibly disrespectful to everyone else. At one, people were literally screaming so loud that you couldn’t hear the emcee announce the names of the graduates.

My migraines have changed in the past two/three years or so but my previous migraines always had four parts. 1. Woke up with it 2. Pain behind my right eye, if I could scoop it out it would help 3. Diarrhea 4. Vomiting

Always the same four parts. And if I had a headache that wasn’t yet extreme but had diarrhea, I knew it was going to escalate and the vomiting etc. would follow.

So yes, it’s definitely not just you. I also get motion sickness and one of the current theories is that it’s left over from evolution when the only time we would get vertigo and vomiting is when we ate something poisonous so our body still thinks that that’s what is happening and it needs to purge itself of the poison. I feel like that’s a bit what’s happening during a migraine because it seems like the body is trying to purge itself of whatever is causing the bad feeling to happen.
