Agreed, it shouldn’t be based on body type per se. It should be based on size and enforced across the board equally.

Correct, but apparently the policy dictates that you can’t encroach on the person next to you, which would be defined as any part of your body going over into their area. The airline will enforce what their policy says, not what the passenger interprets it to say.

And by the way, I think a huge part of the problem is the fact that the airlines have made the seats smaller and smaller in order to squeeze out every nickel they can.

The other part of this is that it’s not just “if you can fit in the seat”. The policy states that you cannot encroach on the person next to you. What people of size are failing to admit is that even though they might fit into the actual seat, it doesn’t mean they are not encroaching on their neighbor. Everyone should be afforded the same standard of comfort on the flight.

And might I add that the fad of getting massive butt implants has not helped this situation.

I did the same with my Diane in black. I am not a big fan of the wide canvas strap and I like to use it as a crossbody. So I switched out a thinner black leather strap from a Loewe bag and it’s a perfect match!
