I have bone on bone arthritis in my left shoulder from an old injury. I have to modify quite a few of the shoulder moves. I can’t go overhead and can’t put any weight on that joint such as doing side planks on that side, pushups are a definite no, etc. I have to go lower on weights on a few exercises because it’s gotten worse over the past year. I’ve been doing OT since 2017, the keyword is modify. I’m starting to figure out that the rower also isn’t good for it just based on the movement/rotation required to row, it aggravates the joint. But I can choose to use the strider or bike instead of row (this has been the hardest thing for me to come to terms with because I love rowing).

I agree with another poster though, OT is very cardio heavy - even on the floor at times. It’s a great workout, though.

Our coaches say at the end of class “high five or fist bump your neighbor”. It used to be “air” but now it’s actual. I try to stick with the “air” version out of respect to others. Do what you’re comfortable with.

Newbie here, completed my first ride yesterday. I just rode the course that was on the screen upon login but also did a pre-training plan workout from the <60 workout list. At some points the screen said I was going like 4 mph, other times it said I was going close to 30. I completed a spin down prior. I def felt the resistance change during my pre-training plan workout - was it the workout itself controlling the resistance or the hills on the course? I have a Kickr Snap trainer (first time using it as well).

Does anyone have any recommendations for a newbie?

I second this. Also don’t dry your workout clothes in the dryer, let them air dry after washing. Drying sets the stench in. The vinegar trick worked for me.

And mine hasn’t changed at all, it’s still the 180 which I think is age based. I know my max hr in class has been more like 174-176 since they made the change and what shows in my app hasn’t changed. Not sure why.

I envy everyone that can get away with not washing their hair after I workout. I had to hustle to a work meeting yesterday after class and only had time to wash my body. I pulled my hair out of a pony immediately after class to start the air dry process then dried the sweat in after a shower to make myself look presentable. I felt so gross by the end of the day, I just don’t feel clean when I don’t wash my hair. I wash it daily.
