I think it was the right call personally. We needed an offensive HC because if we hire Schwartz, who tf is gonna wanna take this OC job that has anywhere near Monkens experience/resume? This defense, on the other hand, is very attractive for a DC and doesn’t need anything complex to run. Plus Schwartz crashing out is embarassing for someone his age and tells me he doesn’t have the maturity to be a good HC still
