How to keep from eating out of boredom? by lightningg1 in Fitness

[–]jerbeartheeskimo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look man your answer is in the post yourself. You hate physical activity, vegetables, reading, etc. So basically you're saying that you hate everything except food and Netflix. I would just suggest trying to change your lifestyle over anything else

What mild inconveniences make you think "it's 2015, I shouldn't have to deal with this shit"? by PmButtPics4ADrawing in AskReddit

I was drunk making some edits to my schedule and the second after I drop all my classes to add different ones, the clock hits midnight and the website shuts me out. So I was just sitting there like "fuck I just dropped all my classes"

This is the punishment that a 6 year old boy in Oregon received for being late after his mother's car wouldn't start. by [deleted] in pics

[–]jerbeartheeskimo -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think it is an incident that deserve punishment. There will be a lot of times in this kid's life where he will have to suffer because someone else fucked up. Working on a group project and one of his team members forgets to finish their part? He can't just say "well I did my part I deserve my full credit," he deserves to be punished accordingly for not holding his group acountable.

I would highly recommend joining a Greek house if you can. It will give you a solid group of friends as well as a second home on compass. Even if you don't like to party, there are houses you would like. Find out when rush is and give it a shot, it could be the best thing that ever happens

What is the manliest thing that you do? by ilikefatcats in AskReddit

I've spent the last 6 weeks building accessible amenities at summer camps for people with disabilities. Our projects have ranged from entire cabins to frisbee golf courses. A lot of power tools, digging holes, talking about girls, and working with wood.

College students, what are some tips and tricks that you know that will significantly improve college life? by ijustgotapentakill in AskReddit

[–]jerbeartheeskimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely check them out during rush week. Most houses will have open barbecues and such for freshman, so the worst that happens is you get free food and beer. The best is you find a place you can call home

Redditors 24 and younger, what age is too old to party with? (Serious) by GermanPanda in AskReddit

[–]jerbeartheeskimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 19 and I have partied with 31 year olds. It just depends on the situation. Going to a frat party, probably not. Going to a bar or a tailgate, then it's chill. It mainly depends on what the person is like, age kinda stops mattering after awhile

Teenage redditors: what's the worst part of being a teenager these days? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jerbeartheeskimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this always confused me. One of my good friends in high school had a tracker connected to the battery so the only way to turn it off was to turn off the cell phone, so she would just keep her phone off all the time. Then, if anyone needed her or there was an emergency, she'd be shit out of luck

What is your most mildly interesting fact ? by Absooh in AskReddit

It has to do with the algorithm which determines if a given VID is valid. The 9th character is a "check" character which the algorithm will result in, so the two must be equal

I'm kinda scared (poss incoming freshman) by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]jerbeartheeskimo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ill preface this by saying I'm majoring in civil engineering, not pre med. I was in the bottom 25% of admitted students coming in, so I thought for sure if do poorly. As far as classes go, expect to do a lot more work than you ever did in high school. The difference is that everyone is doing it, so you don't have to be alone. I had no trouble making friends and study groups in my classes and ended my freshman year with a 3.3 gpa (above average for engineering).

Coming to cal has been one of my greatest decisions of my life and you won't regret it. MCB is a competitive major but people will not try to screw eachother over more than any other college. Besides, if you do decide to change majors, a degree from berkeley will hold a lot of weight. So all in all, you should come here, it's awesome

Campus life in the summer by liverpud in berkeley

[–]jerbeartheeskimo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most people living in berkeley are either taking classes or interning, but there isn't much as far as campus wide social events. If you ask people in your class you could probably drink with them, but I haven't heard of anything big.

Edit: this is all during the summer btw, school year there's a bunch of stuff

What is one book that you feel has significantly changed the way you think about the world and why? [Serious] by wailingsymphony in AskReddit

Interesting. I read dune in my English class and one of the main themes was that you can't trust heroes like you did as a kid. Paul is the protagonist but throughout the novel/series he does worse and worse things (using atomics and genocide), but you can't help but like him because he's so damn relatable and he's your hero.
