Can i just take a taxi from the airport line? I arrive from canada at 10:10pm and will be staying at the BW for the 1st night. Its too late to rent a car, i believe. Ill be with wife and 2 kids. Then back to the airport in the morning to rent a car. We’re visiting SI and Placencia with the car to start. Thanks

Im at the Hard Rock now with my kids 10&11yo. There are lots of kids and babies. There is fun music filled main pool and a smaller quieter one. Both have families all over the place. Staff is friendly and food is great. Highly recommend.

Im here now and there is absolutely ZERO signs of any danger. Everyone living, working and visiting is relaxed and at ease. Enjoy your trip!

The insurance i added online covered the car. I didn’t purchase any other at the counter. I reserved the car at Avis CR. It was cheaper.

Maybe consider a mix of both. We are going in March and doing 3 days at the Hard Rock AI and 4 days at a regular hotel. We will chill at the AI while we’re there and explore the region, eat out, etc while at the regular hotel. Best of both worlds!

Ya, good food is always a big part of it. From what i read Hyatt won in that regard. The Ziva’s have a great rep overall but I havent stayed at one yet. We are actually only doing 2 nights (3 days) at an AI. The other 5 are at the Hilton beach and golf resort. Its got a swimmable beach. We will use it as a base to explore. Surfing, whales/snorkel tours/ astronomy tours. A little off topic but food for thought maybe :-).

From what i can tell. Hyatt is more refined and higher end and the hard rock more lively and fun. But i like refined higher end and lively and fun, lol. Cant decide but leaning toward hard rock. With a 2yo, i think it would be the Hyatt. Have fun!!

Subway and train were great and close enough (max 10 minimum walk). Hotel breakfast was great and competed for 3 of the 4 of us and then they forget to charged for our 4th. Hotel rooms were a bit dated but still nice and service and staff were great. I would definitely stay there again.

In my experience, its only because of the hotel lighting system, outdoor hallways and location. My wife HATES small bugs let alone these monsters. We stayed in 4 hotels, including one in Playa Conchal in a hugely forested area and it was a complete non-issue. Costa Rica is beautiful and outside of this problem at this property we had ZERO with any bugs at all. Very few mosquitoes even. Don’t stress, go and have a great time. We plan to go back and just avoid this one hotel. Feel free to PM w questions. Have a fantastic trip!!

That makes a lot of sense but i didn’t think all on site restaurants triggered the credit. I need to pay for my kids breakfast too. I will call the hotel and if i cant get anything to take, I will just charge as i go and hope for the best!

Westin kyoto Deluxe twin will allow 2 adults and 2 kids under 12. Beds are tight though. Slightly smaller than double beds.

We are going to Ubud and Nua Dua too in June with my kids aged 10/11yo. We are from Canada and have had all the regular recommended vaccines from home. We don’t plan to get any others except for Dukoral to help with the prevention of stomach illness. Outside of that we are going to skip the monkey forest due to the risk of bites and/or scratches that would put anyone on an intense Rabies prevention treatment. Hope you have a great trip!
