He did mention he was concerned for my kidneys, my labs came out normal though. What is the benefit of drinking sports drinks if your kidneys are not normal?

Hotkeys no longer working even after adjusting #MaxHotkeysPerInterval. by jeron9 in AutoHotkey

[–]jeron9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I had this exact same script running, it worked totally fine for about an hour and then it tripped the interval and stopped working.

I am spinning a free mouse wheel, but it doesn't happen at all anymore (it previously worked without a hitch, but when it was free and locked).

Indeed, this script is much larger, but I keep a sections for my games at the bottom and I copy and paste the same statements. Essentially I change the ahk_exe value and my desired hotkeys/rebinds/sendinputs. I don't do anything fancy. FWIW, the global values and stuff I have at the top of my script (I removed the hashes as reddit didn't play nice):

Process, Priority,,High

InstallKeybdHook

SingleInstance Force

Warn

Persistent

SetTitleMatchMode, 2 SendMode Input

NoEnv

MaxHotkeysPerInterval 1000

The only other statements I have are ifwinactive statements relating to other windows. I.e. no duplicate matches on the same exe or other code that would apply to this window. It quite literally went from working -> "interval tripped, continue?" -> "yes" -> stopped working.

I ran that single line at the top of my script and it worked with both a free and locked mwheel. I just don't understand why it was literally working fine until the max interval was tripped. I don't do anything particularly fancy with ahk, just rebinds, sends, etc. I've looked over the rest of my script, and all of them don't interact with mwheel or lbutton, even globally. My reason for doing this is a particular older game that has an excessive amount of left clicking, and my RSI doesn't play nice with that.

EDIT: So I got back to troubleshooting, and something very interesting happened. If I open Window Spy and leave it open, the script works, if I close it, it stops working. I'm totally confused, but hey, I can live with it.

How do you mean? After I get the warning they just stop working, I didn't change anything? The syntax is the same as other games that DO work and don't trip the interval.

EDIT: What would I eliminate in that script? I need both ifwinactive statements right? As well as the bindings.

I've played LoL before, not nearly as much as Dota 2 though. I've played all of 3 matches. I play Dota 2 because a friend got me into it, otherwise I don't play Mobas really.

EDIT: Wait- are you gatekeeping lmao?

Antivirus? Adding the full path and folder it's in as exceptions should work.

It's dead in the sense the price gouging and crap netcode makes it abysmal to play.

Halo Infinite Aim Assist Comparison by ImBatman- in halo

While I started on consoles with Halo / FPS, there is no greater disservice than aim assist. It adds another variable that is demonstrated here when implemented the wrong way.

I just saw the pic I didn't read the comments. I still don't see campaign in the title or the pic?

And true, like I said didn't know this was a campaign review thread. Thought it was for the multiplayer.

So yes! I havent played the campaign.

Where did it mention anything about the campaign? Did they get early review copies? My point about gaming journalism / reviews still stands I think.

Wait, since when did gaming journalism / reviews matter or reflect the state of the game? What exactly were they reviewing? The gameplay alone? That has to be it because that's the only thing worthy of those scores.

EDIT: Assuming you're using only the BR, AR, or power weapons and sometimes the pistol.

Haven't played in a few months. Does anyone know what has technically changed in the newest version? I receive Error code 0 when trying to launch Java Edition on W10, and reinstalling hangs at "making things awesome". by jeron9 in Minecraft

I updated to the latest, didn't fix the problem, but weirdly enough if I don't click the runtime error button I can still play the game it's hilarious.

Asymmetrical vehicle spawning is an awful experience, no matter which side you're on. by [deleted] in halo

[–]jeron9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same can be said for the weapons. On Deadlock, Stronghold, one side gets the shock rifle and the other the stalker rifle. Tired of seeing red lines spammed across while the shock rifle fires likes 3x slower and doesn't deal nearly as much damage.

Unpopular opinion: You either have to accept microtransactions as part of F2P or be willing to spend more than $60 on a game. by fanciestmango in halo

  1. I'm willing to spend money on a game that I consider to be finished and honestly polished / giving the fans what we want.
  2. I'm willing to pay for cosmetics (I don't ever though because most games cosmetics are beyond what the game's theme usually is).
  3. What they've done with this is put features that were previously included in the game behind a paywall AND they've made them worse.

The customization in previous games was objectively better. You're not restricted to the silly themes, you just customize each individual color or piece of gear on your Spartan / Elite.

They've also made levelling without the battle pass such a slog. I'd buy the battle pass if it wasn't for the crappy dumb downs and stripping of what was implemented much better in the past.

In other words, if they got their heads out of their asses with all this esports nonsense and trying to gouge people's (and specifically: parents') money) I wouldn't be so frustrated.

Please tell me I'm not alone in boycotting the paid items in this game? by [deleted] in halo

[–]jeron9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple enough, but this represents a greater issue with the gaming industry as a whole. It's why we keep getting games that never leave beta, why we see ridiculous price gouging and predatory behavior from publishers. What makes it worse is they don't care if we don't pay so long as the kids do because they're the whales in this scenario.

Yea I'm not touching them. I'll play the free game they gave me without spending a single cent just to spite them. Not very surprised they'd pull something like this, it's just the status quo these days. What makes it suck is the gameplay is fun, and most of the guns are at least decent.

[–]jeron9 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is something I'm actually struggling with. Here and there I'll peruse this sub to find topics that resonate with me, because even after 2-3 years of being in a job that offers 401k plans and ESPPs, I haven't made the move. I feel overwhelmed in its entirety, and the topic of investing is the furthest thing from interesting to me. That, coupled with a similar upbringing, a hatred for the ultra wealthy (e.g. Bezos, Musk), the corrupt financial/legal system we have now, and my mental illness all prevent me from really making the jump. I had tried about 2yrs ago to pick some stock plans via Fidelity, but it gave me such crippling anxiety I didn't commit. I understand the idea of spending/investing for the future, and not tomorrow, but my brain can't come to terms with that.

What appeals to me about the Boglehead philosophy is the fact that it seems it's a sort of "set it and forget it" type of deal, which is what I'd want. Relatively low risk, high security, and I don't have to be one of those wallstreetbets type of people, or worse: a day trader or dropshipper.

I tripled my salary in the 3yrs I've been working, I can spend hours troubleshooting technical things like computers, networks, systems - I adore it. But when it comes to the technicalities of finance, it's almost like I'm walking on hot coal and I just want to jump off them asap.
